Homosexual activist Evan Hurst: EXhomosexuals legitimate only if they have perfect lives

Writer at Wayne Besen’s blog ridicule African American man’s testimony of hardship as “sick crap”.

twohurstEvan Hurst, a homosexual activist with “Truth Wins Out” dropped a rather bizarre revelation on its gloomy website. The personal stories of EXhomosexuals are only legitimate if they have lived perfect lives BEFORE they became gay. Please don’t snicker, he’s dead serious. The banned list includes zero drinking or partying, no family brokenness, NO suicide attempts (even though they lament young gays who allegedly have high suicide rates ) no sexual abuse of any kind and no drug use or experimentation. In addition, the person must have grown up with a mother and father in the home, went to the best schools and made superior grades. And you must be a virgin.  For a person’s story to be authentic, Hurst asserts it must be scrubbed free of the type of common human problems everyday people face.  It has to be more like his utopic life as a privileged white gay male who’s never had a problem since the day he was born.

According to Hurst, an amateur musician in Memphis,  that kind of story would prove that gays can change. If only the religious conservative homophobes could just produce such a person. Sigh. Yet, he declines to say if he would then give up his homosexuality.

“…this kind of crap would be a lot more credible if the anti-gay side could trot out one purported “ex-gay” who doesn’t have a long sob story about family abuse, drug abuse, suicide attempts, or other things like that. Unfortunately, that’s not the way it works. The “ex-gay” myth only continues to have legs because the Religious Right is particularly good at targeting vulnerable victims who they can convince that they should blame all their worldly problems on their sexual orientation. It’s sick, but then again, consider our opposition.”

This false dichotomy falls flat for several reasons. (1) No human has lived such a life. Not even the squeaky clean gays paraded around in the media. (2) Its a standard of living Hurst can’t even claim to have lived. (3)People are highly inspired by stories of  others who have struggled against tremendous personal odds and emerged victorious. (4) sexual orientation is a contrived psychological construct which has become a convenient straw man.

Nevertheless, Hurst fumed at the Illinois Family Association for posting the video testimony of Raleigh Mayberry, an African American male whose PERSONAL LIFE STORY mirrors 70% of black kids in America today. But snotty, privileged white homosexuals like Hurst are out of touch and see most blacks as Cosby Show caricatures.  That’s white hoodless racism. The truth is that many of us (like me and my 7 siblings)  grew up having to deal with a plethora of  hard issues that lead to terrible choices, including how we sexually express ourselves. That’s reality.

According to government statistics, 72 percent of African-American children are born to unmarried mothers. Dr. Natalie Carroll, an obstetrician who has dedicated her 40-year career to helping black women, feels that this is unfortunate. “The girls don’t think they have to get married. I tell them children deserve a mama and a daddy. They really do. A mama can’t give it all. And neither can a daddy, not by themselves,” Dr. Carroll says. “Part of the reason is because you can only give that which you have. A mother cannot give all that a man can give. A truly involved father figure offers more fullness to a child’s life.”

According to Children-our investment.org, homes without fathers ultimately affect children in numerous tragic ways:

* 63 percent of youth suicides are from fatherless homes
* 90 percent of all homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes
* 85 percent of all children who show behavior disorders come from fatherless homes
* 80 percent of rapists with anger problems come from fatherless homes
* 71 percent of all high school dropouts come from fatherless homes
* 75 percent of all adolescent patients in chemical-abuse centers come from fatherless homes
* 85 percent of all youths in prison come from fatherless homes

These statistics apply to African-American homes in disproportionate numbers. Compared with the 72 percent in our communities, 17 percent of Asians, 29 percent of whites, 53 percent of Hispanics and 66 percent of Native Americans were born to unwed mothers in 2008, the most recent year for which government figures are available. The rate for the overall U.S. population was 41 percent. [source]

gayperfectlifeMaybe Hurst is lying or concealing the hurt, pain and struggle in his own life. Doing that always make you look good when casting stones at others. But homosexual activists are so transparently hypocritical. While they celebrate and gush over PERSONAL STORIES of gays who have survived bullying, gay bashing, AIDS, and other terrible human challenges, they have no compassion for others.  Especially the PERSONAL STORIES of EXhomosexuals who have survived the same tough situations.

Hurst isn’t alone. Another white homosexual wrote: “[Mayberry's]  “story” seems almost tailor-made to reinforce every piece of ignorant misinformation that comes from conservative “Christian” groups like IFI. Lack of a male role model in childhood; abuse by one of those predatory gays…”

White liberals are black people’s worst enemies.  To them, Black children growing up with no father in the home is “ignorant misinformation”.

Perhaps these words of ancient wisdom will provide some much needed sensitivity training to these poor, misguided people.

Life is short and sorrowful for every living soul. We are flowers that fade and shadows that vanish. Job 14:1,2 CEV

Gays are so self-centered that now it appears the homosexual activists want to brand or define ex-gay. They want to exclude a spiritual transformation because it would expose their spiritual sickness. Deep down they are miserable. And the activists want to make sure that misery is the majority. But God shall have the last word!

    • Don says:

Ina, the scope of your judgment is breathtaking. It must be exciting to sit upon such a lofty throne of moral and spiritual perfection. No worries about glass houses for you, eh? You are certainly a shining example of how to walk in the light and glory of Christ. The rest of us hope to reach your pinnacle of flawlessness someday. In the meantime, please be sure to continue to post your Christ-like proclamations. I’m going now to reference His instructions on calling people sick and miserable. Was that in Matthew?

      • gcmwatch says:

Don, in your haste to judge Ina for judging, you missed Evan Hurst “judging” exhomosexuals. I guess thats okay though, huh. Its always justified when its a homosexual doing the judging, right?

    • gcmwatch says:

Well said Ina. And the ONLY solution is they become BORN AGAIN. That filthy life of sin stinks to high heaven and corrupts everything and everyone it touches.

  2. Paul says:

SMH at this flawed logic. So in a nutshell gay is the highest form of humanity? Just more proof most people these days don’t think before they speak.
P.S. SMH is shorthand for Shaking My Head

    • gcmwatch says:

Paul according to them once youve reached that apex of existence, there’s little left in life to accomplish. That explains why homosexual activists are so arrogant and snotty.

      • Paul says:

So they’re preaching “enlightenment” as well. Just what they need to complete the outfit, more twisted New Age Deism. And sounding just like our accuser who gave them this “revolutionary way of thinking” to ‘be like the Most High’…and we know where most of these poor disillusioned people are headed if they do not accept salvation (Isaiah 14:14-15).
