Notable Quotes: Rev Franklin Graham (2)

Writing in Decisiofranklin-grahamn Magazine about the force-fed acceptance of homosexuality in America, Rev. Franklin Graham son of the world reknowned American Evangelist Billy Graham said:
“True followers of Jesus Christ, whose salvation is based entirely upon God’s Word, cannot endorse same-sex marriage, regardless of what our President, the Congress, the Supreme Court, the media or the latest Gallup poll says about the matter.

This moral issue has been settled by God Himself and is not subject to man-made revisions or modifications. In the end, I would rather be on the wrong side of public opinion than on the wrong side of Almighty God who established the standard of living for the world He created. Marriage is a biblically moral issue, not a political or theological one.”

Good quote. I’m amazed at how quickly the (pro)gay lobby has changed our perception of sodomy. I think I’ve heard to referred to as “culture jamming,” or something like that.

Anyway, standing up for the truth has never been particularly popular or easy, but its becoming ever less easy and popular by the day. Hopefully, though, those who “speak the truth in love” will save souls, or at least plant seeds.

I am so grateful for men like this. People that stand for what is right. He will be blessed abundantly. I read this article on another site and the replies were vicious and brutal against Mr. Graham. He must be doing something right.

JohnDoll, Ive seen the bizarre and vile comments gay marriage supporters make on other sites. They rarely offer any rebuttal of substance, its mostly vicious personal attacks that are saturated with sexually broken language. Its good to have at least one place where the words of the faithful are upheld and affirmed.

While I agree with Rev. Graham that the church should take a stand on the Biblical definition of marriage we need to go a step further. We need to insist that the state has no more jurisdiction to issue marriage licenses than it does to issue a license to be baptized or receive communion. If a church accepts a 501(c)3 status it is granting the state the right to define a church. If a church refuses to submit to the requirements of the state (such as a requirement to marry two men etc.) the state can then penalize the 501(c)3 organization. Likewise, if we acknowledge and submit to the state in receiving a license to marry we are giving the state the right to define marriage. I have an entire chapter on this subject in my book “‘Do Not Be Deceived’: A Christian Worldview Response to Gay Marriage”

  4. John Doll says:

The good news in all of this is that gray areas are vanishing. True Christians will be forced to stand their ground against the onslaught of the gay agenda and other issues as well inside the church. People are fleeing the Episcopal Church in droves because of the humanistic, anti-Christ, pro gay marriage, pro abortion rhetoric coming from the pulpit.

It will be a black or white decision. No fence sitters anymore. True Christians are facing some very uncomfortable and challenging times. In my thinking it is a very positive thing that Jesus Christ is doing. He is using Satan himself to wake the church up. It is very exciting.

    • J.W. says:

John, I believe that is the case, as well. This verse comes to mind:

      John 10:27
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

    • Frank Eckenroad says:

“He is using Satan himself to wake the church up. It is very exciting.” Well said.

  5. Paul N says:

    Well said.

People who endorse same sex marriage reject God. I have heard people who claim to be Christians say that opposing homosexual marriage is unloving and that it pushes the homosexual away from Christ. Nope, the homosexuals love for sin and desire to go his/ her own way is what does it. The opposing of this actually helps them, as one would hope that the truth of the matter causes them to think again.

  6. george harrison says:

Thank you GCMwatch for your website and stance for our God, Saviour Jesus Christ, and the Word of God in this backward drifting society. The Word of God is forever truth no matter what man says.

  7. Gretta Gibbs Harrison says:

Keep telling the truth….I’ve shared this article and others with my family. God loves you so much for telling the truth! Amen!
