After reading Rik Fleming’s blog the other day, his latest post “War is upon you” really drove home the “times and season” we are in. If victory is to be won, we must be active participants in the Lord’s army. Because of the lust for power, attention, position, money, material goods and sexual pleasures, many in the church won’t realize what is occuring and consequently will suffer substantial loss. A soldier’s life is one threaded with hardship. Regarding the battle we are engaged in Rik writes:

…the Christian who responds in faith to the call to arms will find that his enemy does not sleep, seeks no peaceful coexistence and will attack you in your waking hours and in your sleep trying to lead you to fear, become anxious, to fret your trials and tribulations, to question your salvation and doubt the promises of God. He will use your emotions to throw you into turmoil, your pains to think of yourself as a victim, your wishing and wanting to lead you to become discontent with the gifts of God and fill your tired mind with accusations. The enemy is a deceiver and the accuser of the brethren. (Revelation 12:10)

Take time to read his entire post, then get suited for battle.  Don’t let the blingified false prophets tell you that this is a time of peace and blessings. There will be no true peace until the Prince of Peace is seated on his earthly throne. Stop bemoaning your problems, issues, and trials. Instead, take up your cross and follow Him. If God has given you one talent, you should be working to double it, if you have received five, work to increase them, if 10 dont rest, be faithful in doing all to present to him greater works. Take up your sword and challenge others to get into the fight. You may not be frontline, but wherever God has placed you, do whatever your hands find to do and do it with all your might (Eccl 9:10). Let it be done for the glory of God.  War is upon us and every soldier is needed. Your voice, your talents, your gifts, your money, your time, your children, everything should be available to our Commander in Chief.

You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.  The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.  No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier 2 Timothy 2:1-4 NASB
