The huge headcount (membership, numbers) and the assets (money, fame, other acquirements), while good in their proper place, perspective, and representation, do NOT necessarily equate to “blessing” and “favor” from God.

Thanks Gnp22, thats really the big picture point I was attempting to make. Some picked up on that (despite all the OTHER negative attributes I mentioned) and made it an issue of whether a large church is viable. The harlot church uses these numbers and accruements as justification that God, consequently those who see big numbers as “favor” will be deceived. Its the same with the narrow road and the broad way. Those who truly believe God and suffer to live right are in the minority. Yet, such suffering and “smallness” is ridiculed as not representative of God by those in the prosperity movement and for the most part many ministers strive to prove themselves by how big a building they can get, its address, how many members they can accumulate and if they have a CDC, etc. Want proof? Pick any church and read its “history”, then tell me what are the common points made in said history.

Does that mean they are the “harlot church”? No, but its influence and spirit is stamped all over it.

Somewhat in relation to your message, for sometime now, it seems that the “Church at large” has “gone Hollywood.” The huge headcount (membership, numbers) and the assets (money, fame, other acquirements), while good in their proper place, perspective, and representation, do NOT necessarily equate to “blessing” and “favor” from God. You have but to look at some of the wealthy, yet unsaved, people. They have “stuff,” but they do not have LIFE, for they do not know God. “Stuff” does not equal blessing and favor. I pray we always be reminded of that.

Proverbs 15:16 – Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith.

Proverbs 16:8 – Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.

Luke 12:15 – And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

1 Timothy 6:3-6 – 3If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
4He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

behold, many years ago when I “was” a member of a legalistic church called the COGIC, your words probably would’ve convicted me because at that time I was deceived and in denial like you are to the harlot system. I didn’t rock the boat when I saw pastors stealing money, committing sexual sins and preaching erroneous doctrine. I feared men more than I feared God and that’s not a place you want to be. God gave “His” people a mouth to speak the truth and to denounce lies which is the most caring thing that a true Christian can do in these days of comprimise. It takes courage for Brother Foster to put up this blog to receive unwarranted ridicule from people like you who measure your salvation on how well you can get along with the world because you refuse to tell them the whole truth of the Gospel least they get angry with you. I won’t be silenced by the harlot church, you or any demon from Hell because God has brought my family and me through too much to be quiet. Souls are being turned away from God because of the foolishness that is being perpetrated in these harlots churches (big and small) you are defending and yet you say a person is legalistic if they are trying to save people from them and out of them. Christ said in Revelation 18: 4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her (the harlot church), my people (Christians), that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. So the question shouldn’t be whether you can be saved in a harlot church, it is whether you can stay in a harlot church as a true believer and the Bible just answered that question. Jesus said He would never leave us nor forsake us and that the Holy Spirit would take His place after the Ascension; the Apostle John in the First Epistle of John said that we have the anointing which tells us unteachable things like when we are in a harlot church. You can fool the people of God most of the time, but you can’t fool the Spirit of God no time (pardon the poor grammar). Eventually the true believers will come out by the power of the Holy Spirit speaking in their hearts or speaking through mouth of other Christians like Brother Foster. It is hard to stay on the wall. It is a lonely place, but the eternal rewards are worth it Brother Foster, just know others are also rebuilding the wall like you all over the world.

Even so come quickly Lord Jesus!

You accuse me of being one that deceives when the truth is, i was clear as day, and upfront about what I wanted to know. that’s why i asked… And as far as me reporting to a “Bishop”… what do you suppose I’ll tell him? He has better things to do (like caring for souls)rather than hearing about a lot of religious, uninformed, polarized rhetoric that’s on this blog.

GCMW: behold, you just gave yourself away as a career hypocrite. Find somewhere else to pretend to be on the Lord’s side.

You pretend to be interested it what Brother Foster has to say so that if he slips up and says the wrong thing you can report back to your “bishop.” You remind me of Shemaiah in the book of Nehemiah who was trying to deceive Nehemiah but God revealed his plot to Nehemiah: 6:10 Afterward I came unto the house of Shemaiah the son of Delaiah the son of Mehetabeel, who was shut up; and he said, Let us meet together in the house of God, within the temple, and let us shut the doors of the temple: for they will come to slay thee; yea, in the night will they come to slay thee. 6:11 And I said, Should such a man as I flee? and who is there, that, being as I am, would go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in. 6:12 And, lo, I perceived that God had not sent him; but that he pronounced this prophecy against me: for Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him. 6:13 Therefore was he hired, that I should be afraid, and do so, and sin, and that they might have matter for an evil report, that they might reproach me.

You’ve been revealed Shemaiah now go back to Ono and tell Sanballat and Tobiah that Brother Foster and those on the wall with him aren’t coming down.

Pastor, as you can clearly see by the comments, this post resonates… it works.

The objective of any Christ-minded blog and ministry is to get folks to think. You know, something most “seeker” pastors aren’t that interested in promoting.

By the words in here, I would say people are thinking, their brains are on fire and you – dear sir – have lit the Holy Ghost match.

If I misunderstood your comment’s tone – I apologize. That said – your question – “What must one do to qualify for heaven”, in my opinion reeks of disingenuousness. The last bit only solidified my “opinion” – ”Can you please list other qualifications for heaven so that maybe we can get the word out to the people who are in those churches? “

Since you are familiar with scripture, the word getting out to those in the “harlot churches” is exactly what has been done here. Not sure how one astute as you missed that? I would also add, your conclusion about any who have professed Christ as Savior would be saved, even those among a “harlot” church – is wrong, that’s a contradiction. Professing Christ as one’s Savior is meaningless if it does not bear fruit. No one could possibly unconditionally surrender their life to His lordship and participate in such a death stanched environment unabated by the moans of the Holy Spirit. The good news is – that not even a Pharisee or a leper is beyond His divine reach.

You use the word “qualifiers” – which also is misleading, perhaps on purpose? There are no “qualifiers” there is only Faith in Christ. Faith equals obedience. I would say it is wrong to encourage anyone in their disobedience no matter what claim they to Christ as their Savior they may make.

Lastly, I never indicated I represented “most readers here”. I will now simply say – I smell a passive aggressive duplicity to your comments. Maybe I am wrong, but I doubt it, I am rarely wrong.

Beckrl, I amazed I must admit at the great lengths that satan goes through to mimic the kingdom of God. Its all one, big deceptive plan to get souls into hell. His fate is sealed without question and his hate for God drives him to do this.

Zion – Babylon
Christ – the antichrist
bride of christ – the harlot church
male/female – same sex

and the list goes on…
