I commend Bishop Palmer for his stance and leadership. As a Methodist pastor (AME), it is important that we address this issure accurately and without fear and of course with integrity. I can assure you that the AME church will not be the first to allow openly gay ministers to be pastors. We have been steadfast as a denomination to address those issues at every general conference. We are cracking down on all clergy sexual misconduct and immorality. We all as pastors and laypersons must stand for righteousness and not give in to the pressures of the gay movement.

I firmly believe that the gay issue will be a catalyst for division in Christendom, and an issue that God will eventually use for his glory. Just as Jesus said , he came not to bring peace, but a sword (that is, division)[Matt 10:34]. I think when these and other denominations approve of Gay Marriage it will create such a stench and an uproar that it will expose many of these churches as being the ungodly and hollow shells that they are, and cause people to seek out the true churches of the Lord.

Many of these churches themselves are “in the closet”, pretending to be of God when in fact they dont know God, nor preach the truth. Indeed, come out from among them, people of God, and be separate (2 Cor 6:17). Revelation 18:4 also comes to mind: “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” So be it, in Jesus’ name.

Lafe, I hear you brother.

I wish I could say the Methodists are standing on solid ground but from what Ive read and seen, they are headed the same way.

The problem with most of these denoms is that they have been completely emotionally manipulated by homosexual activists masquerading as Christians.

I friend of mine predicted that the AMEs will be the first black denom to allow openly gay clergy.

I pray that God’s will be done in his church.
