The Prosperity Message is a “soft” message; it is what the carnal minded person is dying to hear. Preachers that are more worried about their pocket books and wallets are scared to preach the truth. Many Pastors are afraid that their congregation will stop paying tithes, and stop giving speaker offerings if they preach the truth. Prosperity preachers will avoid subjects that will make them unpopular because that will affect their income. Keep people happy and they will support your lifestyle and lavish you with gifts. If these preachers preached against homosexuality, Government corruption, adultery, fornication, and materialism these guys (and gals) would not have a big following.

Rik, I tend to agree with you. They have not at all tried to conceal their desire to deep six the Bible. I just dont think most people are aware of the extent of their hatred of the Word of God.

What this “professor” teaches doesn’t surprise me and it isn’t new.

If you read the Gay Theology proponents of the Liberation bent you’ll find that they are much more upfront about their views of the Bible than the average crafty and subtle Gay Theology apologists. For example, Gary Comistock (a professor at Wesleyan University) in his book “Gay Theology Without Apology” states concerning the Bible, “Christian Scripture and tradition are not authorities from which I seek approval” (pg. 4) and then later states “I criticize it and call it to account for its homophobia.” (pg. 12) What is the ethcal consequence? He believes that giving sexual pleasure to children is a form of liberation and is perfectly acceptable so long as it is not “coerced.” (pg. 29-30)

Im still trying to grasp how one can be a Christian and yet disavow the Bible.

Central to this idea is the understanding that sex may mean different things for different people, whether people consider themselves heterosexual, bisexual, gay, lesbian, male, female, or transgender . . .

OK, so what does the understanding of what sex means to the pedophile? What about Man/Boy Love Association? I think those men can put in their definition of sex . . . after all, the men do love the little boys . . .

Do you see what is coming? Once we open Pandora’s box to homosexuality (the box is cracked and people are taking a peek), pedophilia is next (followed by bestiality). We think HIV/AIDS is a problem? America is on the verge of a pandemic problem with HIV and other STDs, especially the ones associated in having sex with animals.
