The doctrine of the Nicolatians – part 1
The fight we help to lead against gay christian doctrine is nothing new to the church. It has, through the centuries since its founding on Calvary by Christ, fought valiantly against many forms of false Christian-oriented doctrines.
As we began taking a closer look at a first century heretical sect called the Nicolatians, there emerges a convincing picture that the doctrine and deeds of the Nicolatians bare a striking resemblance to modern gay church theology. What’s more, the “allies” of the gcm, whom we have cited here such as Bishop Carlton Pearson, Cynthia Clawson and Bishop John Spong among others are part of a wider movement of various forms of antinomianism. Indeed, the beliefs of the Nicolatians were based on a form of antinomianism which taught that the grace and love of Christ allowed one freedom from adhering to the moral laws of God. In this first part we will look at what we know about the Nicolatians from scripture and cultural context. In the sequel we’ll look at its simularities with the gay christian movement.
Although there is no specific written doctrinal work on record by the Nicolatians, several things we can be sure of.
1. Their deeds and doctrines were hated by Jesus Christ. He specifically denounced and condemned this twice and followed with a stern warning to repent.
2. The Nicolatians were closely associated with idolatry and sexual immorality and exerted a certain amount of influence over the people of God. It required a forceful confrontation from Christ and his apostles. The scripture equate this negative influence with leaven.
WHAT THE NAME MEANS
According to Truth Ablaze and doctrinal exposition site, the name of the sect reveals much about the doctrinal error.
The name, Nicolaitanes, is a compound word which is composed of three Greek words, and which, because of being a proper noun, is transferred instead of being translated into English. As thus transferred, it is subject to the laws of Greek construction in regard to ellipsis, contraction and phonetics.
The Greek words used in its construction are first: “Nikos,” of which we use the English equivalents instead of the Greek letters, as we shall also of the other two. Nikos is defined as “a conquest; victory; triumph; the conquered; and by implication, dominancy over the defeated.” Another transferred name in which this term is used is “Nicopolis,” i.e., Niko – conquest; polis city. Hence, the city of conquest, or city of victory. Also “Andro” — “nikos;” a man of conquest, of victory.
The second term used in the name under consideration is “laos,” — people, another use of which is Nicolas, which is transferred and is composed of Nikoslaos and means one who is “victorious over the people,” the letter “s” being, in both words, the nominative case ending, which is retained only at the end of the word to denote the case, while “a” short and “o” short are contracted into “a” long.
Rev 2:14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. Jesus also linked the Nicolatians to the error of Balaam, an Old Testament false prophet who has become a biblical symbol for apostasy.
Here in Pergamum, we see the “doctrine of Balaam” strictly condemned by Christ. It is important that we understand what Balaam’s “doctrine” was, so that we may steer clear of it today. What the Old Testament alludes to- Jesus makes very plain – the doctrine of Balaam involved idolatry and sexual immorality. I’m not going to post the whole story of Balaam for the sake of time and space. I encourage you to read about him in Numbers chapters 22-24. To make a long story short, Balak hired Balaam (a prophet of sorts who is called a “southsayer” in Joshua 13:22 KJV) to curse Israel. After numerous attempts at bribing him by Balak, Balaam finally comes to the conclusion that he cannot curse what God has blessed (I could really preach here, but I’m going to resist the urge so that we can stay on track). It’s going to take more than some verbal curse to make Israel vulnerable to her enemies. So he comes up with a strategy. This strategy is later revealed in Numbers 31:8,16. What becomes obvious is that Balaam’s strategy included getting the children of Israel to commit sexual immorality with the Midianite women. In committing this trespass, the men of Israel were also mingling with the pagan gods worshipped by these women. This is a perfect example of religious syncretism. That’s a big theological word, but it basically means a “mixture” of different belief systems. What makes it so deadly is that it gives the outward appearance of piety and reverence for God, all the while tolerating the things that He has so clearly designated as an abomination to Him. We must beware of this even today-now more than ever!
Revelation 2:20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. The Nicolatians are likewise linked with Jezebel, another Old Testament personality who became known for leading Isreal into unrestrained idolartry and ruthlessly persecution of God’s true prophets.
Though the names keep changing (Nicolatians, Balaam, Jezebel), the message is basically the same. This teaching offers a Christianity which doesn’t demand obedience and loyalty to Jesus Christ alone. This is heresy and God hates it- plain and simple! We can clearly see that the aim of these false teachers is to convince Christians (notice Jesus calls them “my servants” in Revelation 2:20) that sexual immorality, ungodly lifestyles, and idolatry can be practiced without affecting one’s standing in Christ. Jesus strongly rebukes that notion by saying that judgement is surely coming to those who practice such works. He calls such teachings the “depths things of Satan.” (KJV) I think it would be interesting to see how this is translated in various versions for effect.
Even without an extensive knowledge of the Nicolatian sect, we can see why Christ declared his hatred for their actions and their false teachings. Today, though we are accused of hating homosexuals, it is the spirit behind the gay christian movement with its form of godliness that is truly worthy of the hatred of God’s people. Neither should it be tolerated. Our example should closely follow Christ’s in calling on them to repent and return to the truth.
Gay theology heavily influenced by antinomianism
Gay theology is so heavily influenced by antinomianism that all of the gay christian movement’s arguments against what the scriptures clearly teach about homosexuality are a result of this infusion of this heresy. Like a proverbial “pandora’s box” when a religious group embraces one doctrinal fallacy, it opens the door for other false beliefs to be accepted and practiced. Often it is spiritually fatal.
The sermon by Rev. Candace Chellew, Whosoever editor and a gay UCC minister, is one of the clearest examples of antinomianism we have come across. On its face, the antinomianist view is inherently hypocritical in part because it minimizes the written word in sexual and moral circumstances, but selectively uses it to support its own positions. Such beliefs are a dominant component of gay christian theology and account for the movement’s ability to look and sound Christian to those unfamiliar with its real beliefs.
In a sermon called “Better heresy of doctrine than heresy of heart”, Chellew sloppily attempts to pass off a quote from John Greenleaf Whittier as spiritual truth. She claims it is based on Matthew 6:19-21 and Matthew 15:10-20, but that’s only theological window dressing. Incidentally, Whittier’s poetry was known for appealing to emotions and feelings rather than logic.
Chellew attempts to support her antinomianist premise with a Thomas Carlyle quote: “A loving heart is the beginning of all knowledge.” This, she says, leads to a “knowledge of self”. Perhaps it does, but is that the true path for a follower of Jesus Christ?
Psalms 110:10 says the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments. Jeremiah 17:9-10 says the heart is deceitful above all things and desparately wicked, who can know it? The Bible never tells us to seek knowledge of self, rather we are told to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18). Thus, when we seek Christ, we find ourselves, but only in Him. For in Him we live, move and have our being (Acts 17:28). Chellew’s worldly philosophy like that of all false teachers, lead people away from God instead of into a deeper relationship with Him.
One of the hallmarks of a false gospel is that it produces no power over sin. Thus, followers of false doctrines begin to make creative concessions for their sin. Paul declared in Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of God unto salvation” (freedom from sin). Chellew’s powerless gospel becomes the reason for her “massage table revelation”.
I had a revelation of this fact about a year ago as I was lying, quite naked and vulnerable, on a massage therapist’s table. The therapist was massaging an area of my upper chest when she remarked about how tight I was in that region. She then explained to me the concept in Chinese medicine that the body is divided into seven chakras or power points. The point she was massaging is called the Heart Chakra. Since it was tight she said, “That means you’re not following your heart.” I immediately burst into tears. Those simple words, said in passing by my massage therapist, hit home with me. It made me realize that more than anything else I need to honor what’s in my heart. I cannot live in any way that is contrary to what I know in my heart to be God’s will for my life.
Given that gay christian theology is so completely irreconcileable with the true gospel, its no wonder Chellew would make this statement:
Each of us, because we are sitting in a church as openly GLBT people, alongside our straight allies, knows that we are doctrinal heretics. But we also know that being doctrinal heretics is better than hiding, denying our true selves, and living a lie that doctrine would have us to live.”
Unable to use scripture to support her fringe claims, Chellews tosses in words from a Buddhist monk:
Buddhist monk, Jack Kornfield, in his book “A Path with Heart” gives us a starting place in answering that question [about the heart]. Above all, he advises, any path we choose should “have heart.” Think deeply about the path your life is on right now. Is it a path that fills your heart with joy and anticipation of each new day? Or is it a path that fills your heart with dread as each new day begins?
Her words are a set up to feed the brokenness of those listening. There is no power, no promise of freedom from sin, only a false compromise which tells each person to follow their own deceptive hearts.
After telling her audience that they must treasure God above all, Chellew then leads them in a Buddhist transcendental meditation exercise where they are to think on two good deeds they have done. This is supposed to make them feel better about themselves. In other words, being a good person is what really matters, not obeying some set of restrictive Bible rules. Nowhere in scripture are we told to meditate of our good deeds. We are told to meditate on God’s Word day and night. If we do, we will be like trees planted by the water whose leaves never wither. Psalms 1:1-6
Chellew says what stands in the way of their “path to happiness and self discovery” are “those of a more right-wing thinking who believe there is only one path that the heart must tread theirs of course. A path that strictly adheres to doctrines, no matter what the heart may say. Those on the religious right tell us that by following our hearts we will end up in hell sentenced to eternal damnation. They’ve made up doctrines saying it’s so!”
By incorrectly attributing biblical doctrine to the work of political “right-wingers” and not the Holy Spirit, she may have cut off the path to her salvation. The gospel is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who believes for the Jew first and also for the Greek. What a tragic thing to discover in the end that both heresy of doctrine and heresy of heart are false roads that really do lead to hell.
Brian McLauren watering gay churches
Surprised? You shouldn’t be.
Yes, Brian McLauren, the enigmatic guru of the emergent church movement is watering gay churches. And why not? After all, the emergent church and the gay christian movements are cut from the same false doctrine cloth which rejects sound biblical doctrine. When we wrote in early February that is was “inevitable” that elements of these two false movements would coalese, we were almost two years behind. The core goal of value-less unity is a strong component of both movements.
McLauren appeared at the same homosexual church in Arkansas that southern gospel music singer Kirk Talley did. This Flickr photo slide, shows a very comfortable McLauren speaking at the Sherwood Open Door Church in December 2006. Unfortunately, we have no record of what McLauren told them.
But there is ample written proof that McLauren is a saltless false prophet whose goal is to redefine the faith once delivered to the saints into a subjective guessing game as to what and who’s right.
To get a more complete picture of McLauren gay christian ideology read this and check this out John MacArthur’s response. McClauren tells the church have a “moratorium” on discussions about homosexuality in order to “help us resist the “winds of doctrine” blowing furiously from the left and right, so we can patiently wait for the wind of the Spirit to set our course.”
If you have read our posts on antinomianism you can quickly spot the “Spirit trumps Word” ideology. The “Spirit” (not the Holy Spirit) allows one the unfettered liberty to live above the so-called legalism of the Bible. Thus, no scripture which condemns homosexuality is applicable. How very convenient for the gay christian movement. Freedom has a whole new meaning.
Likewise, the theology of the church’s Pastor is steeped in antinomianism. He regards the Bible’s condemnation of homosexuality as nothing more than “legalism” or slavery.
“Paul tells us in Galatians that we should not allow anyone to put a harness of slavery on us ever again. A friend of mine says it is amazing how many people would rather worship at the foot of Mount Sinai where Moses received the Law instead of the foot of Mount Calvary where Jesus set us free from the heaviness and impossible requirements of the Law. Those who today still hold to a legalistic approach to salvation and God’s love are mean-spirited and exclusive. Their love is conditional and so is their acceptance.” [source]
Needless to say, the pastor is completely wrong. His theology is driven by his desire to cover, justify and protect his own sinful lifestyle rather than to honestly exegete what the scripture says. The Bible calls that handling the Word of God deceitfully.
But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. 2 Cor 4:2.

"Holy homosexuals" and their stunning lie
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_i71syUywM]
This video would be high comedy if the people promoting it weren’t dead serious.
Michael Piazza, the spiritual architect of the gay church Cathedral of Hope (now UCC) in Dallas makes the confusing pitch that since they are holy homosexuals, you should send them money. Here we have another example of why the gay christian movement is so spiritually bankrupt: they steal biblical terminology and pervert it.
There is so much wrong with this gay christian heresy, but I’ll only cite a few of them.
COH is the gay church’s crown jewel, boasting of being the largest gay church in the world. They’re probably right. In the video, the size of the church is mentioned several times to make sure you know they are “successful”, at least in that matrixial worldview. But in the Bible, numbers have never equaled success or salvation. In fact, God eschewed numerical aggregations as counterproductive to His plan and a major hinderance to the complete attribution of glory to Himself.
Piazza quickly establishes that scripture isn’t important to him or the gay christian movement. We have seen that over and over with gcm leadership. He carelessly tosses it aside as simple debate fodder. His proof that homosexuals are indeed “holy” are the “thousands of people” at COH who are doing it. Holy homosexuals are their own proof. Imagine that. Scripture tells us that no one is holy or justified apart from the sanctifying power of the Spirit of God. But, its interesting that the gay church pastor says they are holy because they have accepted their self declared “sexual orientation.” No God, Jesus, repentance or Holy Spirit needed. Its all about accepting your sexual orientation. That’s why the Apostle Jude wrote “For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.”
By waving away the Bible, any challenge to their religious logic cannot reach their ears or convict them and that’s intentional. Piazza may not know this but without the benefit of the gospel’s core message to repent, one cannot come to saving grace. Rejecting truth is a sure way to experience the eternal fires of hell and Piazza is leading his followers directly into it.
Piazza said they had held 1100 AIDS funerals at their church. After 1100 dead men have been wheeled in their doors, they still don’t sense a need to repent? No and I’ll tell you why. To the gcm repentance (contrast that against Mark 1:14,15) is nothing but a manipulative “fundamentalist” concept designed to keep gay people from being happy.
Despite the overwhelming biblical, scientific, moral and physical evidence against homosexuality, the proud lie continues.

Related Update: Fallen Angel from the Dallas Observer
One evening in 1990 after attending an MCC conference, three friends–Piazza, his partner, Bill Eure, and a Cathedral of Hope administrator–showered and dressed and went out to dinner on Los Angeles’ Sunset Strip, just a stone’s throw from the hotel where they were staying. After an early meal, they decided to go out on the town and blow off some steam in the gay mecca of West Hollywood.
The three men shared a rental car. That night they made a deal: The single friend could have the car for the night in exchange for dropping off Piazza and Eure at a club.
As the trio headed the short distance into West Hollywood, the conversation turned animated when the couple began talking about the club where they were going. In fact, it wasn’t a bar at all but a gay sex club where men pay an entrance fee for anonymous sex.
The warehouse building was nondescript. There were no flashing lights, no signs that advertised the club’s name or venue.
“I was surprised, but I didn’t hold a judgment about it,” says the administrator, “Neil,” who spoke on condition that he not be identified by his real name. “Maybe it was because he [Piazza] was my friend and not my pastor–I didn’t have him on a pedestal.
“If he had preached monogamy, then he would’ve been a hypocrite,” he says. “He always said he didn’t care what the staff did. ‘Just not in my back yard’–not in Dallas and not with the congregation. Power and sex go hand in hand, whether you’re a politician or a preacher.”
He picked up the couple a few hours later. No one spoke about what happened inside the club. “They didn’t go in for tea and crumpets,” he says. “But you can’t assume they weren’t safe.”
The MCC’s code of conduct for clergy is disarmingly simple and deliberately open to interpretation.
MCC developed its sexual conduct guidelines to offer parameters for responsible clerical behavior without prescribing or prohibiting the form of sexual contact. Sexual misconduct is less about whom one has sex with or what acts consenting adults engage in as it is about the ethics of sex. The focus is on openness and honesty. The types of behavior that constitute sexual misconduct are sex with minors, sexual abuse or molestation, sexual harassment, sexual exploitation or sexual relationships with a person whom one supervises or ministers to.
“There is no prohibition that says a pastor must be monogamous or not attend a sex club,” says MCC spokesman Jim Birkitt. “The key for us is whether that person is open to the congregation. At the very least, there must be a clear understanding with the board of directors.”
A little insight into the mindset of gay christian leaders in the Metropolitan Community church. Note: such beliefs are not the exception but rather the norm.
Exposed: Saints are you awake yet?
We have several items to report to you. This is a rather lengthy post, but the false prophets are working in overdrive. We have learned that gospel music luminary Beverly Crawford, who launched her career with Bobby Jones, is responsible for the career of gcm activist Tim Dillinger. A gay christian from Exgaywatch articulates why the gcm is nothing more than a heresy revival. Soulforce is on the prowl again, with plans to visit TD Jakes’ Potters House among others. G. Craige Lewis’ latest post connects the dots between the false prophets, their false lifestyles and their tricks to strip you of your money, salvation and God-given potential. Saints, are you awake yet?
Fear of the Bible? Said a gay christian at exgaywatch:
I do not believe, however, that we are to take the Bible and use it as a weapon. It is for that reason I accuse those who do so as “Biblists” because they use only the Bible as their source, leaving out reason and love and compassion which are more powerful gifts God has given us than a written text. A Christian who only relies on the Bible as a source for beliefs – gay or straight – is not a Biblist per se in my definition so long as they use other sources for their understanding of God’s message – reason, love, and compassion among other gifts. A Biblist is one who uses the Bible in such a way as to demoralize and destroy others – as well as placing the Bible above God him/herself, making God chained and bound to what has been written in the sacred texts.” (our bold)
Love, reason and compassion are more powerful gifts than the Word of God? That’s right out of the antinominian heresy manual which elevates spirit above scripture. It allows an individual to conveniently opt out of God’s moral laws because of self defined love. What does he believe is the source of love reason and compassion? This is precisely why the gcm will remain in a dark, spiritual stupor because they continually reject the only source of truth, God’s Word. Without it, one cannot be free (John 8:32).
News is getting out that Soulforce’s tactic of so-called nonviolent visits to Christian schools has mutated and they are planning to show up en masse at six selected “megachurches” to ask them “can we talk”? Churches on the list include:
- Rev. Joel Osteen and the Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas
- Bishop T.D. Jakes and The Potter’s House in Dallas, Texas
- Bishop Harry Jackson, Jr. and Hope Christian Church in Beltsville, Maryland
- Bishop Eddie Long and New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia
- Rev. Bill Hybels and Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Illinois
- Dr. Rick Warren and Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California
All of the churches, except Hope Christian Church have leaders who are steeped in controversial, if not false doctrines of some sort. So its understandable why Soulforce would target the ones who are most open to their “visit and talk”. They actually praised Joel Osteen’s mass motivational church approach. Soulforce has added some teeth to this venture by partnering with the National Black justice Coalition, Rev. Kenneth Samuels of Atlanta (who damaged the original pre-Eddie Long, New Birth with his false teachings on homosexuality) and Jay Bakker the cool, hip false prophet son of Jim and Tammy Faye. We wonder what would happen if large groups of Christians opposed to homosexuality started showing up at gay churches for a “talk”? Can someone say homophobia?
Of the meetings, blogger Matt Green accurately predicts, “Unfortunately, if history is any indicator, the leaders of some of these churches will lapse into sentimental platitudes, neither satisfying Soulforce’s desire for affirmation nor confronting the sin of homosexual behavior and extending the offer of salvation by grace through faith–thereby squandering the prophetic platform God has given them in our culture.”
If you are black and know anything about black gospel music, you’d know Beverly Crawford is at the top of the heap. Her over-the-top pentecostal energy propelled her as a standout on the Bobby Jones Gospel Show. She eventually went on to establish herself as a major personality within that industry. She is now a minister at TD Jakes and Company in Dallas. But she also seemed to have picked up Jones’ nefarious connection with homosexual affirmation. Tim Dillinger, who describes himself as a “queen”, wrote of how Crawford helped nurture him along even while he was admittedly homosexual. Once again, it shows how perverted the gospel music industry’s leaders, movers and shakers are to elevate talent over righteous living. How can such perverted theology produce righteous music representative of a Holy God? What a dirty, dirty treasonous slap in the face to our Holy God. After using the church to get recognition as a gospel singer, Dillinger left to be an R&B singer.
Finally, G. Craige Lewis of Dallas writes on his blog:
The black church is imploding. It’s blowing up from the inside out. No terrorist bomb needed, no plan of the devil needed, no assistance from hell needed. We are allowing those that lead the church to tear it apart for their own selfish gain and we are saying nothing. We won’t call names when we should. We won’t stand up when we should. And we are following what we know to be wrong as if it was right! We are too afraid to read the signs. We don’t want to add this up and come up with a figure in the end. We don’t want to know what’s really happening because it’s too scary. We want to sit in the pews and clap, sing, and give offering without questioning motives, intent, or what is right before our eyes.
I’m not questioning their lifestyles in secret, I’m telling you that what they are doing in the public eye will always expose their their hidden agenda. When a person does things in the public eye that are contrary to the Word or Holiness, they are sending a message that they don’t care what you think or what the bible says about it because they want to shift public opinion in their favor. What these folks are doing in plain view and don’t mind you knowing, is the nail in the coffin. This means they feel they are right and you better get with them or get crushed. Wow. 2007 exposed a bunch of folks motives and 2008 will be even worse. Pray for the church people. Pray. And after you have prayed and fasted, ask God to show you what is real!”
I will emphatically add one thing to Lewis’ passioned plea. After you have prayed, do something! Tell somebody so they are not led into hell by these pied piper demons. We do not post this information for you to gawk at, laugh over and gossip. This is just like the sexual offender registries that are now commonplace. People need to know who and what are threats to their spiritual well being so they can take action and protect themselves.
Watch, Pray and Expose
Brothers and sisters, do not be deceived. There are many false christs, false prophets and false teachers claiming to follow Jesus and love Him. Their greatest fear is being exposed. That’s why the battle is intensifying, because the Spirit of God is moving to expose them. While we cannot judge an individual’s heart, we can and are required to test (1John 4:1), judge righteously (John 7:24) and use the Word to discern (Hebrews 4:12) their actions and words, comparing them to the scriptures for verification and authenticity. Not only are we to examine them, but we are to examine ourselves (2 Corinthians 13:5) to see whether we are in the faith. Not a denomination or spiritual group. The faith that was once (meaning in finality and totality) delivered unto the saints.
You already know that since its inception, the history of the church is replete with men who have attempted to divert our eyes away from God’s truth and onto themselves. The apostle Jude warned us that at the root of these individual’s motives is a doctrinal agenda based on sensuality and sexuality rather than obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ. It is based on intellectual philosophy rather than grounded in the supernatural words of scripture (John 6:63).
Some people have secretly entered your group. Long ago the prophets wrote about these people who will be judged guilty. They are against God and have changed the grace of our God into a reason for sexual sin. They also refuse to accept Jesus Christ, our only Master and Lord ( Jude 4 NCV).
We must ask ourselves, why have they come in secretly? What is any person’s reason for doing things secretly? And how have we allowed them access?
That being said, please take time to read these excellent reports on some of the false teachings and teachers in the gay christian movement. In all actuality, the gay christian movement is only false movement based solely on defense of sexual sin. Every false movement needs to identify itself as Christian in order to gain credibility, but we must continue without fail to examine them in order to protect the unsuspecting and those who could potentially be caught in their snare and end up in hell.
Fred Butler at Hip and Thigh (I love his blog tag “slaying theological Philistines with a great slaughter”) examines the teachings of a gay christian who claims Jesus identified modern day homosexuals as “eunuchs”, thus exempting them from the sexual and relational requirements of Matthew 19.
Samuel S. Shin who writes for the Trinity Journal authored a powerful article entitled The Deadly implications of homosexual hermenutics. In it he details how the gay christian movement explains scrtipture and thus, its deadly implications for those who follow it.
The blog, A Little Leaven, exposes the false doctrine of an gcm church in Atlanta which purports to be a “Full-Gospel, Charismatic/Pentecostal, Spirit-Filled, Spirit-Led, Bible-based, Gay-affirming, Evangelistic, Bought by the Blood of Jesus Church Family”. Notice there is one thing which sets them apart from any other “normal” Christian church.
Finally, our friend Neil at 4Simpson has put the effort into writing a very effective biblical response to the silly shellfish arguments held in such high esteem by the gcm.
One additional tactic the gay christian movement is developing is what we call escapist theology. Instead of dealing with the scripture texts, they are developing their own gay bible study guides and holding seminars to teach others how to innoculate themselves against scripture.
