The [d]evolution of Carlton Pearson

Yvette Flunder’s Fellowship of pentecostal homosexuals is touting its upcoming churchfest.

But there’s an interesting arrangement of guest speaker pictures.

There’s no debating that Carlton Pearson has changed over the years. The question however remains: By his hand in glove advocacy of homosexuality is Pearson preparing the way for others or for himself?

Slated to appear at the Fellowship’s annual religious production, is Pearson’s picture placement telling a story?

1. From a COGIC evangelist, Flunder devolved into a lesbian bishop.

2. Wyatt Greenlee paid his fees and followed her as a gay bishop’s assistant.

3. Tonex/Anthony Williams/B.Slade  trekked out of the breeding ground of  strange fire to the heart of religious hedonsism.

4. Jim Swilley saw the devastation caused by other sexually perverted ministers in his family but still devastated many of his church’s members with his gay liefest.

5. After trying out traditional pentecostalism,  gay church circuit parties, then weird new thought religion, is Carlton Pearson next in line?

We’ve seen it before with so-called inclusion clerics claiming they were only trying to seek justice and equality for gay church and/or family members. But later we found out that they were just testing the waters to see how much public support they could elicit for their own private abominations. See this man, this man and this man [b].

In brief: More WH devotees come out in St Louis

greenleeThe St. Louis American posted an article interview with two area clergy which offered more evidence that the late Walter Hawkins was a closet inclusionist. One of the two men in the story, we have covered before. Bishop Wyatt Greenlee (left), an assistant of Yvette Flunder said Hawkins and Flunder helped him start his gay inclusion church Greater New Higher Heights (now a UCC). Read more about Greenlee here and here.

“I started ministry in 1988 and it was through his wisdom and counsel that helped me set it up properly,” said Greenlee, founder of New Higher Heights Church. He and Bishop Flunder took me under their wing and allowed me to network with the right people – he was my pastor and a man of incredible wisdom and council.”

New Higher Heights operated under Hawkins Love Center Church Umbrella and he was instrumental in the process of their first church recording in 1993 – serving as producer of the project.

Other pastors under Walter Hawkins umbrella ministry.

Bishop Larry Trotter "in revival" at gay church

We’re not surebishoptrotter what to make of this yet.  With all the falling away from the faith going on all around us, it shouldn’t be surprising that more and more of these once prominent ministers would begin accepting engagements from homosexual churches. Perhaps they just need the money and gay churches are a new source of revenue. Or maybe we really are in a free fall away from the truth. There are quite a few supporting links in this story, please check them out to get the full picture.

A commenter (Dee) mentioned this and it bore checking out.  And it does appear Bishop Larry Trotter (pictured, left) will be “in revival” April 23rd at Greater New Heights Christian Church in St Louis. The church is a member of Yvette Flunder’s gay denomination, The Fellowship and pastored by Bishop Wyatt Greenlee who serves as the “Episcopal Assistant to the Presiding Bishop”.

Like other black gay churches in The Fellowship, Greenlee moved his congregation into Christianity’s most extreme left wing denomination, the United Church of Christ. The UCC was Barack Obama’s “home” denomination for 20 years under Jeremiah Wright.

Trotter is pastor of Holy Spirit Church in Chicago and presiding bishop of United Covenant Churches of Christ. Trotter’s itinerary lists him at the church for two nights as well as his past engagements at Noel Jones’ church.  We have to confess, this is strange. Trotter was appointed head of the UCCC by its founder Bishop Delano Ellis. If you remember, Ellis was the leader of the quorum of African American bishops who first declared Carlton Pearson a heretic.

On August 22, 1992, the First Pentecostal General Assembly of the Church was convened during the Third Session of the Holy Convocation of the Pentecostal Church of Christ, at Cleveland. Bishop J. Delano Ellis was proclaimed the first General Overseer and President of the Reformation.

After fifteen years of excellent labor, Bishop J. Delano Ellis, II exercised wisdom in the Lord and deemed it necessary for health reasons, to relinquish the office of the presiding bishop and grant a faithful son, Bishop Larry Darnell Trotter, his nomination for succession in the Episcopal Office. After much prayer, the College of Bishops of the United Pentecostal Churches of Christ convened on Tuesday, June 8, 2004 and unanimously elected the nomination of Bishop Trotter to the office of Presiding Prelate of the reformation. Bishop Trotter’s Pentecostal roots, tenacity, wisdom and 21st century technological style prepares us for the continuation of the foundation, as well as propels us to the next dimension…which caused a word in our name to change from “Pentecostal” to “Covenant” for our global agenda.

Does Ellis know that Trotter is trending towards fellowshipping with homosexual churches? In fact, fellowshipping with the same organization that welcomed Pearson’s heresy? Pearson is now a “ecclesiastical board member” of The Fellowship. Does this mean Bishop Larry Trotter is now homosexual affirming? We don’t know, but GCM Watch will seek to find out and keep you updated.

UPDATE: 3:15pm EST A spokesperson for Bishop Ellis said that they have had no association with Trotter or the UCCC for over two years. She did not elaborate on the reason, but suggested GCM Watch contact Trotter’s offices in Chicago.

UPDATE 04.21.09 A reader of this blog who knows about this situation informed GCM Watch of the following:

First, Ellis was retiring and Trotter took the organization and was reestablishing it and changing it and many of it’s practices such as baptism etc.  During this, Ellis took his organization back (churches) even if Trotter kept the name (that I’m not as familiar with). By the way, Trotter was disfellowshipped from COGIC because he was caught with his minister of music and wanted to continue pastoring but the Chicago churches said NO.

GCM Watch seeking former members of gay churches

Gay Christian Movement Watch is seeking first hand accounts and personal narratives of several categories of individuals who have had personal experience with gay churches and organizations.

First,  GCM Watch is seeking testimonials of former members of gay churches namely: Metropolitan Community Churches (UFMCC), any affiliate churches of The Fellowship (Bishop Yvette Flunder), Unity Fellowship Church Movement  or any independent gay church. In addition, if you were part of an “affirming” or “inclusive” church, but left because you no longer accepted its false doctrines, please contact GCM Watch as soon as possible.

Secondly, if you have visited, but never joined a gay/affirming/inclusive church your personal narrative of that experience is also welcomed.

Third, if you know of someone who fits the criteria above, forward this information to them and ask them to contact GCM Watch.

These personal narratives are being sought to provide a balanced and truthful counter to the lies currently being promoted by gay churches about biblical sexual morality. These organizations promise an overabundance of love, value and acceptance but what are they actually delivering to  hurting and confused people?

This announcement will repost each month.

Fellowship Bishop's credentials purchased from fraudulent "university"

And that’s not the only fraud we discovered about Bishop “Dr.” Wyatt Greenlee, Jr. of St. Louis. Bishop Greenlee, the “Episcopal Assistant” to Bishop Yvette Flunder, and a member of The Fellowship’s Ecclesiastical Board (think COGIC general board) claims to be a man of high educational accomplishments, but does the evidence match the claims?

EDUCATION

Bishop Greenlee’s church bio is chocked full with alleged degrees, boardships, executive positioning and the likes. But little of it is legitimate or can be substantiated. The following is a screenshot of Bishop Greenlee’s online bio:

Perhaps what is most shocking is Bishop Greenlee’s ”master’s in education and doctorate degrees” from St. Regis University. Bishop Greenlee may indeed possess a doctorate and a master’s degree from “St. Regis University”, but both were purchased, according to the modus operandi of the school. St. Regis University aka James Monroe University was a cog in the wheel of an  elaborate degree purchasing scam.  According to Wikipedia (our bold) :

Saint Regis University is a now-defunct diploma mill operation with several other connected institutions. The Oregon State Office of Degree Authorization has stated that Saint Regis University was a diploma mill linked to 18 other front “schools”.The school issued degrees based on “life experience” instead of requiring the taking of actual academic classes or a formal course of study. It sold both college degrees and high school diplomas.

After CNN uncovered the scam in 2005, and a major scandal erupted in a Georgia school system, the eight owners were indicted. One of them, Kenneth Pearson, was a pedophile. Wikipedia said that four computers seized from Pearson’s home in association with the diploma mill investigation were found to contain more than 10,000 sexually explicit images of children. He later pleaded guilty.

But neither the pedophilia of its owners  nor the blatant illegality of the fraudulent school was enough to dissuade Bishop Greenlee from proudly listing his purchased degree[s] from them. Why does the Bishop feel he has to deceive others about his education?

Secondly, Bishop Greenlee states that he received a “degree in ministry” from Covenant Theological Seminary. Covenant, a conservative Presbyterian seminary would be an extremely uncomfortable environment for Greenlee.  In fact, the school’s very prominent Francis Shaeffer Institute teaches an entire series on homosexuality from the Shaefferian perspective.  Shaeffer, a former agnostic, was largely credited with influencing Jerry Farwell’s Moral Majority.

While Greenlee states he received a “degree in ministry” from CTS on his site,  the Fellowship site states “Bishop Greenlee is an alumni of the Master of Divinity program at Covenant Theological Seminary.”  Faced with this disreprancy, we called CTS in an effort to clarify if Greenlee was enrolled and which degree, if any, did he receive.

The registrar’s office at Covenant searched extensively but said that Wyatt Greenlee was not a student and further, the name did not appear in any of their databases. She also added that CTS is a fairly small school and generally she would know a student. Does the Bishop realize that such fraudulent claims would mean immediate loss of employment in the secular world? What is The Fellowship’s policy to such patent dishonesty?

Greenlee also claims to possess a BS in Business Administration from the University of Missouri at St. Louis. Unfortunately, we cannot divulge that information due to a privacy agreement required by the Student Clearing House (SCH). The university uses the independent SCH to handle all degree and enrollment verification requests.

MINISTRY and BUSINESS

The following is a screenshot from Bishop Greenlee’s online bio detailing his ministry credentials:

What about Greenlee’s claim that he was ordained by the World College of Bishops? Who is this organization and how reputable are they? After searching, we did not find a “World College of Bishops” but did identify the World Bishop’s Council . What’s more, pictures of Bishop Yvette Flunder and her friend controverisal Archbishop Timothy Baymon president of the WBC were posted there. He is also another Fellowship Ecclesiastical Board member.  In February, Baymon was arrested in Springfield, MA in connection to the assault of another bishop in his organization. He accused the man of using witchcraft. Baymon also has a history of ordaining homosexuals into the bishopric.

Bishop Greenlee claims to be a current board member of the St. Louis Chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop of America,  but Mr. Dello Thedford, the current chapter representative for the chapter said that Greenlee is an involuntarily ”inactive” board member due to reorganization. However, Thedford did acknowledge that the Greater New Higher Heights Choir remained an integral part of the chapter.

As for being “vice-president of E.R. Mason and Associates”, there is scant evidence the organization still exists. The individual who answered the only number listed for the company said it definitely was not the number for E. R. Mason and Associates.
