Exposed: Saints are you awake yet?

awake.jpgWe have several items to report to you. This is a rather lengthy post, but the false prophets are working in overdrive. We have learned that gospel music luminary Beverly Crawford, who launched her career with Bobby Jones, is responsible for the career of gcm activist Tim Dillinger. A gay christian from Exgaywatch articulates why the gcm is nothing more than a heresy revival. Soulforce is on the prowl again, with plans to visit TD Jakes’ Potters House among others. G. Craige Lewis’ latest post connects the dots between the false prophets, their false lifestyles and their tricks to strip you of your money, salvation and God-given potential. Saints, are you awake yet?

Fear of the Bible? Said a gay christian at exgaywatch:

I do not believe, however, that we are to take the Bible and use it as a weapon. It is for that reason I accuse those who do so as “Biblists” because they use only the Bible as their source, leaving out reason and love and compassion which are more powerful gifts God has given us than a written text. A Christian who only relies on the Bible as a source for beliefs – gay or straight – is not a Biblist per se in my definition so long as they use other sources for their understanding of God’s message – reason, love, and compassion among other gifts. A Biblist is one who uses the Bible in such a way as to demoralize and destroy others – as well as placing the Bible above God him/herself, making God chained and bound to what has been written in the sacred texts.” (our bold)

Love, reason and compassion are more powerful gifts than the Word of God? That’s right out of the antinominian heresy manual which elevates spirit above scripture. It allows an individual to conveniently opt out of God’s moral laws because of self defined love. What does he believe is the source of love reason and compassion? This is precisely why the gcm will remain in a dark, spiritual stupor because they continually reject the only source of truth, God’s Word. Without it, one cannot be free (John 8:32).

News is getting out that Soulforce’s tactic of so-called nonviolent visits to Christian schools has mutated and they are planning to show up en masse at six selected “megachurches” to ask them “can we talk”? Churches on the list include:

  • Rev. Joel Osteen and the Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas
  • Bishop T.D. Jakes and The Potter’s House in Dallas, Texas
  • Bishop Harry Jackson, Jr. and Hope Christian Church in Beltsville, Maryland
  • Bishop Eddie Long and New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia
  • Rev. Bill Hybels and Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Illinois
  • Dr. Rick Warren and Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California

All of the churches, except Hope Christian Church have leaders who are steeped in controversial, if not false doctrines of some sort. So its understandable why Soulforce would target the ones who are most open to their “visit and talk”. They actually praised Joel Osteen’s mass motivational church approach. Soulforce has added some teeth to this venture by partnering with the National Black justice Coalition, Rev. Kenneth Samuels of Atlanta (who damaged the original pre-Eddie Long, New Birth with his false teachings on homosexuality) and Jay Bakker the cool, hip false prophet son of Jim and Tammy Faye. We wonder what would happen if large groups of Christians opposed to homosexuality started showing up at gay churches for a “talk”? Can someone say homophobia?

Of the meetings, blogger Matt Green accurately predicts, “Unfortunately, if history is any indicator, the leaders of some of these churches will lapse into sentimental platitudes, neither satisfying Soulforce’s desire for affirmation nor confronting the sin of homosexual behavior and extending the offer of salvation by grace through faith–thereby squandering the prophetic platform God has given them in our culture.”

If you are black and know anything about black gospel music, you’d know Beverly Crawford is at the top of the heap. Her over-the-top pentecostal energy propelled her as a standout on the Bobby Jones Gospel Show. She eventually went on to establish herself as a major personality within that industry. She is now a minister at TD Jakes and Company in Dallas. But she also seemed to have picked up Jones’ nefarious connection with homosexual affirmation. Tim Dillinger, who describes himself as a “queen”, wrote of how Crawford helped nurture him along even while he was admittedly homosexual. Once again, it shows how perverted the gospel music industry’s leaders, movers and shakers are to elevate talent over righteous living. How can such perverted theology produce righteous music representative of a Holy God? What a dirty, dirty treasonous slap in the face to our Holy God. After using the church to get recognition as a gospel singer, Dillinger left to be an R&B singer.

Finally, G. Craige Lewis of Dallas writes on his blog:

The black church is imploding. It’s blowing up from the inside out. No terrorist bomb needed, no plan of the devil needed, no assistance from hell needed. We are allowing those that lead the church to tear it apart for their own selfish gain and we are saying nothing. We won’t call names when we should. We won’t stand up when we should. And we are following what we know to be wrong as if it was right! We are too afraid to read the signs. We don’t want to add this up and come up with a figure in the end. We don’t want to know what’s really happening because it’s too scary. We want to sit in the pews and clap, sing, and give offering without questioning motives, intent, or what is right before our eyes.

I’m not questioning their lifestyles in secret, I’m telling you that what they are doing in the public eye will always expose their their hidden agenda. When a person does things in the public eye that are contrary to the Word or Holiness, they are sending a message that they don’t care what you think or what the bible says about it because they want to shift public opinion in their favor. What these folks are doing in plain view and don’t mind you knowing, is the nail in the coffin. This means they feel they are right and you better get with them or get crushed. Wow. 2007 exposed a bunch of folks motives and 2008 will be even worse. Pray for the church people. Pray. And after you have prayed and fasted, ask God to show you what is real!”

I will emphatically add one thing to Lewis’ passioned plea. After you have prayed, do something! Tell somebody so they are not led into hell by these pied piper demons. We do not post this information for you to gawk at, laugh over and gossip. This is just like the sexual offender registries that are now commonplace. People need to know who and what are threats to their spiritual well being so they can take action and protect themselves.

Bobby Jones' strange take on McClurkin's testimony

Does Bobby Jones personally resent Donnie McClurkin’s very vocal and public accounts of McClurkin’s deliverance from homosexuality? Here’s what Jones told AP music writer Nekesa Mumbi Moody  what the church thought about McClurkin:

A lot of people resent the fact that he claims that he is no longer homosexual, that he was raped, and a lot of those kinds of things. A lot of your die-hard Christians just don’t care for that,” Jones says.

How strange that Jones would pin the alleged resentment on “die hard Christians”. What do you think he meant by “die-hard Christians”? It would seem he would say the opposite. Its been the liberal Christian crowd that has excoriated McClurkin most.  Can this be a case of  Jones airing his own feelings through mythical “die-hard Christians”?

Top 10 gay christian movement watch stories of 2007

UPDATED 12.31.07 topten.jpgSince we took up our watch in June, this has been a great year of exposing false prophets and their false teachings which lead people into bondage and sin. We give God the praise for allowing them time and opportunity to repent and submit themselves to His Lordship and Word. Whether they did or not is a matter between them and God. But we are committed to make the church a place where the false prophet is not comfortable deceiving God’s people. The spiritual charlatans spreading the false doctrine of sexual immorality can no longer expect to creep in while we are on the wall. We’re also thankful to all who sent us tips and supporting information. It is greatly appreciated.

Now that the year is drawing to a close, we wanted to review what turned out to be the top 10 stories of 2007 as reported by Gay Christian Movement Watch. Story rankings are based on number of individual “hits” to the story.

1. Gospel’s Bobby Jones appearing in gay movie (5481) Bobby Jones appearance as a “preacher” in the cryptic sounding movie Dirty Laundry launched an outcry and new awareness of the spiritual corrosion in the gospel music “industry”.

2. TD Jakes, Andrew Merritt linked to gay church movement (4297) Leaders of the Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies in Columbus, OH retained connections to Bishop Robert Taylor who helped establish a homosexual “radical inclusion” religious organization.

3. TD Jakes repositioning with Dr. Phil? (1542) Bishop Jakes partners with TV psychology pundit Dr. Phil. The mutual collaboration was questioned due to Dr. Phil’s false declaration that homosexuality is “inherited”.

4.  About GCM Watch (1248) Some hated us, some applauded us. It seems a lot of people wanted to know exactly what we were doing here. And why.

5. Gay christian movement adherents (1197)  You wanted to know exactly who we were “watching”. We kept our eye on the more prominent factions in the gay christian movement, their leaders, public statements and actions.

6. Another Carlton Pearson Story (1049) A story written by Ministry Today editor Matt Green was both humorus and serious as he reviewed Bishop Carlton Pearson’s false  “gospel of inclusion” doctrine and its inherent contradictions.

7. What does Kirk Franklin know? (1127) Kirk Franklin told the world that homosexuality was a major problem in the gospel music industry. But given his huge influence,  he has done little if anything at all to push for spiritual reform. We wanted to know if someone or something was preventing that.

8. TD Jakes: saving souls can wait (898) Bishop TD Jakes’ reactionary partnerships with anti-righteousness groups caused him to reveal that he really isn’t the man we thought he was. While attempting to pacify the pro-AIDS crowd, Jakes relegated soul saving to second priority.

9. Creflo Dollar protects his money in Canada (877) The Rev Creflo Dollar couldnt answer a straight question about homosexuality while in Canada. We reported that Canada’s laws against “hate speech” affected his ability to stand for righteousness, even if he would lose a few dollars in the process.

10. Bishop Flunder’s  wilderness allegory (904)  In one of the most egregious examples of bible abuse to date, lesbian Bishop Yvette Flunder twisted the Bible’s wilderness journey with a false allegory  in an attempt to legitimize sexual immorality.

We don't want another James Cleveland

clones.jpg

James Cleveland’s very name conjures up images of all that is wrong with the black gospel music industry. He is revered by unrepentant homosexuals in the business for his fame, talent and larger than life persona which held the gospel music industry in its dark grip for 40 years until Cleveland’s death from AIDS in 1991.

In the wake of his death, the awful stories began to surface. Stories about Cleveland’s penchant for young boys and men who ventured into his Gospel Music of America Workshops. Some of them came looking for sexual hookups. That’s what they had been told could be expected. Sadly, the foul spirit in James Cleveland, which was not the spirit of the Lord, maintains an active presence in the GMWA. Its dark influence is even more pronounced on the black gospel music industry.

The worst of it was openly confirmed when Christopher Harris (Cleveland’s foster son) told a reporter that he and Cleveland carried on a sexual relationship for five years.

When he was 13, Harris was the only boy alto in the choir at Cleveland’s Los Angeles church. He was strapping 6 feet tall and looked 20.

Cleveland was a giant in the industry. He wrote more than 400 songs, recorded more than 100 albums, 16 of them gold, and won four Grammys. He founded the Gospel Music Workshop of America and mentored a young Aretha Franklin.

When he died in 1991 at age 59, 6,000 attended his funeral. Harris is now 25 and has HIV. “It has its moments, but mostly it doesn’t affect me unless there is stress,” said Harris, who is Cleveland’s former foster son.

Harris once went by the name Christopher Cleveland. That was before he filed suit against Cleveland’s estate alleging five years of sexual contact that ended with Harris testing positive for HIV.

“Legally, I became his,” he said in a telephone interview from his home in Los Angeles.

The case was settled out of court. The terms prohibit him from discussing the settlement. But he is free to discuss his life with Cleveland.

“I went to his church. He looked into my face and saw my dreams and he used it,” he said. “I wanted to sing, I didn’t want to be like him. He promised that he would help me. He just played it to his advantage, he used my naiveness to his gain,” Harris said.

Harris said his sexual encounters with the older singer were not molestation. Nor, he said, were they his first such encounters with a man. He says that they were typical of the secretive lifestyle of many of the people to whom he was exposed.

“People in [Cleveland's] inner circle knew, people at church knew,” he said. “But they pretended it didn’t exist. I guess what you don’t see you can’t say. But I can.”

“No. He didn’t die of heart failure–heart failure is just a delusion,” Harris said, nearly laughing. The he hesitated. “Let’s just leave it at that.”

This is the danger of the church’s continued silence and failure to take action against people weilding influence in the church while spreading spiritual and sexual destruction everywhere the soles of their feet land.

Whether Dr. Bobby Jones is the new James Cleveland remains to be seen. What we do know is that we do not want another “James Cleveland” terrorizing the church until he is dead, only for someone else to pick up that wicked mantle and continue the legacy. Bobby Jones has yet to clear up his theological stance on homosexuality. We thought he would be courageous enough to respond before the cancelled CNN show. A source within CNN told us on yesterday that Jones’ camp had been contacted to give a statement, but were given conflicting answers.

We also attempted contact with Dr. Jones through his secretary Danyelle Haley, but she hung up the phone in the face of the pastor who called to get their response. Haley also denied receiving emails from GCM Watch.

Message to the black church?

At the heart of this issue is why was Dr. Jones chosen to participate in this movie by the gay activists behind it?

When Barack Obama selected a white, gay cleric to pacify the protest against him for allowing Donnie McClurkin to sing on his “Change” tour in South Carolina, black gays were outraged. Why didn’t Obama choose a black, openly gay cleric to participate, they demaned to know. They argued it would raise the awareness of such individuals in the black community. Keith Boykin and the producers behind Dirty Laundry could have easily picked any number of black homosexual clergy who were “out”. But they didn’t. Instead, they choose a man who like James Cleveland was wrapped in controversy about his sexuality. And like Cleveland, Jones is a “kingmaker” in the gospel music industry. Scores of wannabe-the next-big-thing gospel music singers flock to his highly influential International Gospel Industry Retreat which some say rival Cleveland’s GMWA.

Was Jones’ appearance in the movie a message to the black church? Is the message that since your celebrated Bobby Jones accepts and endorses homosexuality, then why are you still being “homophobic”?

Whatever the nefarious message is, we are saying loud and clear: We don’t want another James Cleveland. Can the true church say amen?

The irony of Bobby Jones' "gospel" show

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUg8VjIEEv8]

Yesterday, I came across this youtube video of Sunday’s Bobby Jones Gospel Show on BET. Reading the comments, one would think that the Lord himself had descended with a shout and the trump of God. The consensus of those commenting was that the last time they “had church” like this on BJG was back when Moses parted the red sea (sarcasm needed to make the point).

From what I can see, the hype over the show came not because people repented and turned from their sins, but because there was a lot of pentecostal-flavored histronics, better known as “shouting and dancing”.  The song, “One More Chance” by Ricky Dillard and his group New G(eneration) had a powerful message. But I failed to see how someone as controversial as Ricky Dillard (Dilliard performed on an album benefitting the LA Gay and Lesbian Center) could sing such a song and continue on as if it is nothing but simply a good, hot church performance. He says at the end, “Some of yall dont know your cue.” I guess the “cue” wasn’t to repent, but to dance more.

They would not allow my comment which questioned where Bobby Jones was and why the lead singer conveniently forgot to sing/preach about homosexuality which was such an obvious transgression? Did she avoid it because of Bobby Jones and Ricky Dillard?

After looking at the video and reading the comments here, tell us what you think.
