A video except from the Al Jazeera America special report on homosexuality and the black church. Tonya Mosely interviews Witness Ministries founder, Pastor DL Foster who was featured sharing his testimony and upholding the truth.
Under Cathy’s leadership Chick Fil A became the nation’s leading fast food restaurant while never compromising his Christian beliefs. The stores remained closed on Sundays so that employees could attend church or enjoy time with their families.
Cathy also supported ministries which assisted people in overcoming homosexuality. People empowerment was a strong tenet of his belief system. CFA for many years under Cathy, provided the now defunct Exodus International with funds and food support for events. That support ended in 2012 when homosexual activists, angered by Cathy’s son Don remarks about gay marriage persuaded the company to discontinue all support for such ministries and organizations.
Pastor DL Foster , founder of the Overcomers Network, released a statement saying, “The Overcomers Network today remembers the great support of overcoming ministry by Mr. Truett Cathy (1921-2014) who welcomed change and affirmed redemption for all people. His support of ministries which helped people overcome homosexuality is a great testament to his character and integrity as a follower of Jesus Christ. Rest in peace from your labors!”
FRANKLIN, Tenn., July 15, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ — Newly released documentary “Such Were Some of You” confronts the rising tide of popular opinion by chronicling the stories of 29 former homosexual men and women who say that Jesus Christ has transformed their lives. Experts in psychology, (Dr. Julie Hamilton), biblical scholarship (Dr. Robert Gagnon) and ministry (Dr. Neil Anderson) add their voice to the claim that people have been leaving homosexuality for millennia.
Created to be used in Sunday School classes, support groups and other group settings, “Such Were Some of You” has been designed as a discipleship and equipping tool for the Body of Christ. The “witnesses to change” describe how they developed homosexual confusion, what the gay lifestyle was really like, how Jesus Christ set them free and the many ways that He has been healing and transforming their lives ever since. Participants include ex-gays from numerous ethnic backgrounds and age brackets, including one former gay activist who dramatically declares at one point, “I am free!”
This two-hour documentary is available on DVD in a “Regular Edition” and a “Leader’s Edition” (which includes a Discussion Guide and a license to screen the video in group settings). I give all praises to God who on April 12, 1990 delivered my soul and my life from the devil who sought to sift me as wheat. Its been 24 years since I left homosexuality to follow Jesus and I don’t regret one single moment of it. The journey thus far has been filled with ups, downs, highs and lows. Ive seen the glory of God and Ive experienced his hand of loving discipline. All that I am and ever hope to be, I owe it all to the One who redeemed me. In case you have never heard my testimony, its still the same. God delivered me, changed me and transformed me. He didn’t change me from a fornicating homosexual to a fornicating heterosexual but from a sinner to a son. He gave me what no man could ever give me: love that would never leave me or forsake me. Im thankful to my wife and my children for loving me and respecting me as I have obeyed God to tell this world that I am free indeed. Thanks to all who helped me grow spiritually by rebuke, discipline, love and giving me opportunity to be a man of God. I pause to give Him glory before I head back into the harvest fields.

Public Statement in support of Evander Holyfield and comments on homosexuality
On January 3, Holyfield became the 12th housemate to enter the 13th series of Celebrity Big Brother UK. Just three days later, Holyfield was “reprimanded” by the show after responding to comments directed to him by fellow contestant Luisa Zissman. Holyfield told Zissman that homosexuality was not normal and could be changed. Using the simple analogy of a doctor fixing a problem, Mr. Holyfield lovingly expressed his belief that the same applied to homosexuality.
“The Bible lets you know there’s wrong there’s right. It don’t make no difference,” “If you’re born and your leg were turned this way, what do you do? You go to a doctor and get it fixed back right. All I’m trying to say, you know handicap people are born, you can’t say because they are born that way you can’t fix them. It is a choice. C’mon, how can you not say you ain’t gay unless you sleeping with the opposite sex?”
“Evander hasn’t lived a perfect life and we all know that”, said Pastor DL Foster, Founder and President of the ON, “but you don’t have to be perfect to tell the truth.”
100% of scriptures that mention homosexual behavior, brand it as sinful and outside of the will of God. Change and transformation from homosexuality is a foundational truth of the gospel. The bible teaches that every person who comes to Christ by faith receives the hope and promise of new life.
Change and transformation is enshrined even in the music of the gospel. Evander grew up in churches hearing songs like “Jesus will fix it for you, for he knows just what to do. Whenever you pray, just let him have him have his way. Let Jesus fix it for you.”
In the minds of those who reject the truth of scripture, such a concept seems offensive. But the Overcomers Network is made up of many members who have experienced the exact change Christ promises. In that, the ON is thankful for Evander’s comments because despite the mockery, truth always prevails.
“Mr. Holyfield is still the real deal in our eyes. True to form, he delivered a decisive knock out blow to one of the most deceptive falsehoods in our world today.”, said Pastor Foster.
