Gender confusion has made it to the mainstream and it has not bypassed the church. Our purpose for this article is to  explore the Biblical and spiritual dynamics of “cross dressing”.  In part one we’ll examine from a Judeo-Christian worldview and on part two we will examine the spiritual dynamics behind this broken image phenomena.

In April 2010 GCM Watch told you about so called “Transgender women” and the Bible” . Among the widening spectrum of gender confusion are pre-operation “transgenders”,  “drag kings” ,”drag queens” ,transvestic fetishism , and lesbians portray male personas i.e. butch; stud. From some  professional sociologist and psychologist  standpoints not every person that cross dresses is homosexual, however crossdressing/drag has been part of western gay culture. But does God approve of such actions?

A mainstream drag

Now days drag has gone mainstream in today society on the most part socially accepted.

• Recently at the MTV Video Music Awards Lady Gaga appeared in drag as her male alter-ego Joe Calderone.

• Female impersonator RuPaul’s VH1 reality show contest has lasted four seasons.

• Some Hollywood male stars have taken on roles in drag. For example the late Tony Curtis in “Some Like it Hot”, Robin Williams in “Mrs. Doubtfire”, Flip Wilson as “Geraldine”, Eddie Murphy in “Norbit”, Martin Lawrence in “Big Momma’s House”, and Tyler Perry as “Madea”, a gun toting, loud mouth cussing, scripture misquoting scriptures, marijuana smoking elderly woman. All Murphy, Lawrence, and Perry playing female characters that are made in the image of the black mammy type, have made $100s million dollars on these types of movies, laughing all the way to the bank.

Female caricatures are seen as marketable, and socially acceptable, no longer the underground taboo it once was.

Religion puts on a dress

Gcmwatch posted an article called UFCM Convocation reprise Canaanite religious abomination on September 4, 2010 last year, in which Unity Fellowship Church Movement sponsored a drag queen contest. The contest was called “Bright Life: The Illumination”, which was headlined by Bebe Zahara Benet(pictured on the right) the 2009 winner of Rupaul’s Drag Race reality television show. Benetwho real name is Nea Marshall Kudi is a former male model from Cameroon, who got his first taste of drag while in Paris at a fashion show, when he asked to dress and walk the runway as a female at the last minute when a female model didn’t show up, it was the birth of him becoming a drag queen. Kudi describes his female persona as Bebe. As Gcmwatch touched on is that Unity Fellowship Church Movement had enter into religious sexual idolatry of the Canaanites.

Old Testament View of Cross dressing

Deuteronomy 22:5 says, “The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto man, neither shall a man put on a woman garments: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God.” This scripture enjoins the children of Israel against engaging in the  perverse religious practice of Baal and Asherah worship. Baal worship incorporated men dressed as woman and take on the sexual role of female, and woman would dress as men and take on the sexual role of a male. Sexual orgies ensued as they believed this pleased their idols.

In Maimonides in his law code Mishneh Torah, had list cross-dressing prohibited by Deuteronomy 22:5, which forbid a man to wear clothes normally for a woman, and clothes normally worn by men shouldn’t be worn by women.

The Jewish Sages understood also the prohibition not just to clothing, but also cosmetic activities that maybe feminine in nature, therefore could not be practice by men, which is found in Nazir, ibid.; Code of Jewish Law Yoreh Deah 182.

Now some in branches of Judaism believe that during Feast of Purim, people can cross-dress for entertainment only for this celebration only, and not the use of promiscuity. However, majority of conservative Orthodox Jewish Rabbi’s and synagogues believe that cross-dressing for Purim is prohibited, and even a drag queen in today time would violate this prohibition(here).

In all cases the Old Testament and in Judaism forbids cross-dressing, and nowhere it could be found this practice acceptable in the Old Testament or in Judaism. But is the prohibition just a matter of Old Testament law no longer applicable?

The New Testament view

Although the Apostle Paul addresses this issue in 1 Corinthians 11:1-16, it is often misinterpreted. Most theologians are ignore this as a prominent strain in the Greco-Roman culture that influenced the Gentiles of that era.

Many of the new converts at the Church of Corinth were former devotees of mythological deities Venus, Poseidon, Apollo, and Dionysus. The issue was that some of the new converts in Corinth were coming into the church leaving there pagan gods, but were keeping their perverse behavior was associated with these gods. Some of the new male converts that worshipped  Poseidon were still wearing there hair long in a feminine way and wearing  veil to cover their head and face, which was connected to their former religion of Poseidon which promoted homosexuality(source).

With some of the new female converts at Corinthian Church, they were still cutting or shaving all their off hair and being unveiled to look like a man as they had done in their previous religion of Apollo and Dionysos; this practiced promoted lesbianism. In rare vase painting  from Corinth it shows a woman dressed in satyr pants equipped with a male organ. The women who worshipped Dionysus would dance before this deity who had been raised as a girl and was himself  called male-female and sham man( see here and here).

Apostle Paul is addressing issues that were more dominant in with the Gentile culture, than that of the Jewish culture. Paul in his evangelistic travels and planting churches among the Gentiles, finds homosexuality, lesbianism, cross-dressing, and sexual immorality more prevalent among the Gentiles than that of the Jews.

Paul was commissioned by Jesus Christ Himself to be an Apostle to the Gentile nations, to carry the Gospel to the Gentile world. Acts 26: 16-18  Jesus said to Paul on the road to Damascus, “But arise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

Shofarsound: How did Crowley come up with his doctrine?

Pastor Joe: Crowley claims that he came up with his doctrine, as he dictated the “Book of the Law,” which he claims was channeled through his wife a demonic spirit entity, he identified as Aiwass.  In his later publications he identifies Aiwass with Satan himself.  I have no reason to doubt him.  Seeing the magnitude of his influence, I have no doubt that he was in the very least, being used by some very powerful and high ranking demonic entities, if not Satan himself!

Shofarsound: Can you explain Aleister Crowley’s relationship with the founder of the modern day gay rights movement Harry Hay?

Pastor Joe: Harry Hay, was not only a member of Crowley’s cult known as the O.T.O (Order of the Temple of the Orient (O.T.O), but was a practitioner of Crowley’s sex magick and the founder of the “Gay Liberation Movement”.

Shofarsound: So he co-0pted Crowley’s satanism for the gay movement?

Pastor Joe: Harry Hay was called the oldest hippie in the counter culture revolution of the 1960s and he played a decisive role in altering the views of the young regarding human sexuality.  He grew his hair long and wore hippy beads, all in a quest to carry out Crowley’s satanically inspired “Book of the Law.” He helped fulfill Crowley’s request that his teachings be circulated among the young. The fact that he became the leader of the modern day homosexual movement says a lot in that regard.

Shofarsound:  Its disturbing at the least, but Hay was a strong defender and participant with the pedophile organization NAMBLA, wasn’t he?

Pastor Joe: Hay was a lifetime advocate of North American Man-Boy Love Association and even marched with NAMBLA in gay-pride parades. As a disciple of Aleister Crowley’s, Hay went so far as to march with the man boy sex association with a “NAMBLA” placard emblazoned over his body. In 1994, Hay refused to march in a gay-parade in New York, because they forbad NAMBLA to march with them. Hay joined another gay parade that year because they allowed NAMBLA’s participation.

Crowley taught that when the age of Horus would finally emerge, the whole concept of immorality and sin would be engulfed in the flames of the New Aeon.  His desire to legally have sex with children would finally be acceptable.  Hay, as a disciple of Crowley’s teachings, and as member of his O.T.O, would have loved to see pedophilia decriminalized.

Shofarsound:  Attitudes about sex in America underwent drastic change because of a researcher named Alfred Kinsey. You say he was also influenced by Aleister Crowley?

Pastor Joe: According to Wardell Pomeroy, who was the coauthor of Kinsey’s sex reports, Kinsey not only loved Crowley’s perverse homosexual writings, but also went to Crowley’s former sex temple in Italy, called the Abbey of Thelema, to obtain Crowley’s sex diaries.  We reveal in our video The Kinsey Syndrome, that Crowley had been working with a number of pedophiles, who he instructed to keep sex diaries, documenting the details about how children were reacting to being molested.  This is how Kinsey was able to record data in his sex reports with children and babies as young as a few months old.  Whether Kinsey had employed Crowley, who was struggling financially in his latter years, to record a sex diary for him, or Kinsey just happened to know he had a sex diary, and where to find it, is unknown.  Either way, such behavior is unbelievably wicked, and is one of the reasons Crowley was called by the press of his day, “The Wickedest Man on Earth.”

Pomeroy, Kinsey’s closest colleague at the time, writes that Kinsey was not only able to procure Crowley’s sex diaries, but that he and Satanist Kenneth Anger removed the paint off the walls of Crowley’s sex temple, that the Italian government had used to cover Crowley’s obscene pedophilic pornography, and discovered the obscene orgies involving children. Pomeroy writes in his book, Dr. Kinsey and the Institute for Sex Research:

“The Great Beast and his followers were against any kind of religion, in any form, except their own. They held group orgies as a part of their ritual, and included in them the small children….The walls inside were still painted in British Oriental colors, and were covered with the ‘most open’ (as Kinsey put it) sexual action pictures….The remainder of the paintings were life-size representations of sexual activity, both homosexual and heterosexual, singly, doubly and in groups, including children” (Wardell B. Pomeroy, Dr. Kinsey and the Institute for Sex Research, p. 413-414).

Shofarsound: The gay rights movements hails  Kenneth Anger as an “important” figure in American filmmaking. But would you say his films were fundamentally homosexual propaganda?

Pastor Joe: Kenneth Anger was making films promoting homosexuality long before Hollywood followed suit. Most of his movies push homosexuality, Satanism/occultism or both.  He is a follower of the teachings of Aleister Crowley, and like Harry Hay, a member of the O.T.O.  In his movie Lucifer Rising, Anger cast his live-in boyfriend, Robert Beausoleil, who would end up committing the first documented murder for Charles Manson, as Lucifer.  The objective of the film was to show the influence of Crowley’s magick, causing the dark forces of Lucifer to rise. Kenneth Anger was also a cofounder of Anton LaVey’s Church of Satan, and he sports a huge tattoo that reads “LUCIFER” across his chest. Anger also wrote forewords for two of LaVey’s books, The Devil’s Notebook (1992) and Satan Speaks! (1998).  Anger was also a confidant of Alfred Kinsey’s and journeyed with him to Crowley’s sex temple in Italy to aquire Crowley’s sex diaries.  We show a picture of Anger and Kinsey in a staged photo beneath a large photo of Aleister Crowley.

To get an idea of just who Kenneth Anger has influenced, we need only look to Bono of U2.  Bono, who many emergent’s view as the unofficial leader of the Emerging Church, has said in the past that he wants to turn America on to Anger’s movies.

Bill Flanagan, a close personal friend of Bono, stated in his biography authorized by Bono, that Bono and U2 were seriously considering starting a new TV network called the Zoo TV Network, to turn the world on to the movies of Kenneth Anger and Wim Wender. In an Interview with Details magazine Bono said that, “Part of America’s dilemma is its TV, because as a mirror it’s a pretty distorted one. I mean, where can you see a Kenneth Anger film in the United States?”(Turning Money Into Light, Details, February 01, 1994)

Christians need to wake up to the fact that we are living in perilous times and we need to take Jesus’ words about watching out for false prophets who come in sheep’s clothing more seriously!

Shofarsound:  In the movie “Lucifer Rising”, Anger used an upside down rainbow triangle. What significance does that have and where is it used now?

Pastor Joe: That’s a great question. Inverted triangles of various colors were used by the Nazi’s to designate various groups i.e., orange for gypsies, blue for communists, pink for effeminate homosexuals.  Many of the Nazi’s were gay, but they persecuted homosexuals who were known to be effeminate. Some homosexuals have used pink or rainbow triangles as a celebration of homosexuality. Kenneth Anger uses it to make a statement about both Homosexuality and Satanism. When Kenneth Anger uses it in the introduction of Lucifer Rising, it appears right side up.  By the end of the movie it appears again, but is inverted.  I believe for Kenneth Anger, it is a symbol for the satanic inversion of society and biblical morals, as a result of the rise of Lucifer and the Crowleyan age of Horus.  Satanists have long pointed out that Satanism is in many ways, an inversion of Christianity.  Anton LaVey pointed out in the Satanic Bible, that the word “Live” is “Evil” backwards.  We also see that many Satanists have used the upside down cross.

It is interesting that in one of Lady Gaga’s latest videos entitled “Born This Way,” she copies Kenneth Anger’s Lucifer Rising, in that she begins the video with a right-side-up triangle, and at the end of the video, she inverts it.

In the song she confuses what God reveals to be unnatural and immoral behavior with race and sings, “No matter gay, straight or bi/lesbian trans-gendered life/I’m on the right track, baby…. You were born this way….” All such behaviors are an inversion of the natural order God has ordained.

One of the false convert/spiritual sons of Bishop TD Jakes has now repositioned/reinvented himself as an advocate of homosexual marriage. Michael Irvin made the announcement via a bizarre cover story in a homosexual magazine . Like most secular and church celebrities Jakes takes under his wing to “father”, this is just another glaring example of the true fruit of false teachers. Particularly, individuals with sex saturated pasts plus talent make them soft targets for false teachers in the church. Taking advantage of Irvin’s celebrity profile, TBN rushed to get him before Christian audiences, touting him as a Christian “who’s life was changed and as a result he can minister to others.” Jakes eagerly featured Irvin as a spokesman in his “Manpower” conferences. In 2006, the Atlanta Journal Constitution wrote that during Jakes’ “Megafest” conference “NFL greats Michael Irvin and Emmitt Smith paid tribute to Jakes, both calling him “daddy.” ”

But the degenerative influence of Bishop Jakes has now crested in the person of Irvin who wants African Americans to embrace homosexual marriage as normal.

To make his big announcement, Irvin posed sexually suggestive, half nude on the cover of a gay men’s magazine. The backstory justification for this bizarre advocacy by Irvin was his cross-dressing gay brother who died in 2006. An NBC DFW story reported that Irvin credits TD Jakes with helping him to accept his brother’s sexual and gender dysfunctions.

“Michael Irvin was never shy in speaking out on the football field, whether to remind an opponent that he had just been beat, or to rally his teammates on the sidelines. Now, Irvin is lending his voice to the fight for equality, appearing on the cover of this month’s issue of Out, a gay men’s magazine.

Irvin says in the article that his relationship with his brother Vaughan, an openly gay man who died of stomach cancer back in 2006, did a great deal to mold his views on same-sex relationships. According to the magazine, Irvin became aware of his brother’s sexuality in the seventies, after discovering Vaughan wearing women’s clothing, an experience that deeply affected the Hall of Fame receiver. Irvin has since reflected on the appearance with the help of Dallas Bishop T.D. Jakes.”

Even the Dallas Observer raised an eyebrow at the weird connection between the two:

“How can Irvin be both open to embracing a gay athlete and be a faithful follower in the flock of Potter’s House bishop T.D. Jakes? It is Jakes, remember, who — even after his son, Jermaine, was arrested in a gay sex sting in Dallas — calls homosexuality “brokenness” and promises to never hire a gay person into his sprawling ministry.”

If you are “surprised” about Irvin’s embrace of homosexuality, dont be. He’s been cultivating it for a while under the Jakes’ supervision. Irvin had been openly courting the homosexual community until last year when he was hit with a rape lawsuit from an alleged encounter with a woman 2007. As a result, ESPN summarily axed his show.

His gay [radio show] partner Cyd Ziegler Jr wrote: “This is a big loss for gay equality. Michael has been an incredible champion of including a gay voice on his show, even when management scratched their heads about having a gay guy on Dallas sports radio. It’s ironic that earlier this week the Dallas Morning News ran a story about how radio was Michael’s No. 1 priority.”

Its very interesting how people who creep into apostasy always end up fornicating with the homosexual community.  It seems to be a foreshadow of the bible’s depiction of Babylon. Revelation 18:1-5

After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven. He had great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his splendor.  With a mighty voice he shouted:

‘Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great!’ She has become a dwelling for demons and a haunt for every impure spirit,
a haunt for every unclean bird, a haunt for every unclean and detestable animal.
For all the nations have drunk  the maddening wine of her adulteries.
The kings of the earth committed adultery with her,  and the merchants of the earth grew rich from her excessive luxuries.”

Then I heard another voice from heaven say:

“‘Come out of her, my people,’ so that you will not share in her sins,  so that you will not receive any of her plagues;
for her sins are piled up to heaven,  and God has remembered her crimes.

Gay Christian Movement Watch: Congratulations on this phenomenal book Dr. Brown. I’d like to start by asking you if this book represents an evolution of sorts in terms of how you have viewed the homosexual movement in America?

Dr. Michael Brown: Thanks for the kind words about the book. Yes, it absolutely does represent an evolution in terms of how I have viewed the homosexual movement in America. As I did the research and observed the developments in our society, my feelings went from serious concern to grave alarm, yet at the same time, my heart began to break more and more for the people involved. So, I deeply love those who indentify as GLBT while firmly opposing their activism, which to them, of course, is a complete contradiction.

GCMW: How you think the average American will react to seeing this? I mean some of the information can be quite stunning to someone who isn’t aware of the depth of depravity among this subculture.

MB: The average American will be shocked on quite a few levels. In fact, I’ve heard from people who have been actively involved in dealing with the relevant social and moral and religious issues that they have been shocked by what they’ve read. First, it’s shocking to see how widespread and pervasive gay activism is in our culture; second, it’s shocking to see how successful that activism has been, especially in such a short period of time; third, it’s shocking to see how this activism is trumping religious liberties and freedoms of conscience; fourth, it’s shocking to see how the trajectory of homosexual ideology actually undermines the very foundations of male-female gender; and fifth, it’s shocking to see how, in some segments of the homosexual community (even religious ones), the sexual fixation is extreme.

GCMW: The book has almost 90 pages of endnotes. Why was it necessary for you to so heavily document your writing?

MB: There are more than 1,500 endnotes in the book, and if we didn’t use such a small font for the notes, we would have ended up with many more pages. For me, though, it was very important to document everything carefully and fairly. Not only is it my habit to do meticulous research (I earned my Ph.D. in Near Eastern Languages and Literatures from New York University, and so I I’m trained to look carefully at the original sources), but I also wanted it to be clear that I wasn’t simply citing the latest internet rumor, that I had done my homework, and that those questioning me – and I knew there would be plenty of critics – would be able to check the sources for themselves. I also wanted to allow those with whom I differed to present their positions in their own words, in context, with reference to the original sources.

GCMW: We’ve  done a lot of documenting on the excesses of the gay christian movement and in “A queer thing” you devote a chapter [10] to this. What stands out most about the gay religious movement to you?

MB: That’s a big question, and one that’s especially painful, since I’m sure there are many sincere people going through very intense personal struggles in the gay christian movement. Can you imagine how “liberating” it is for some of them to conclude that, “God made me gay and the Bible doesn’t oppose loving, committed, same-sex relationships”? It’s a very powerful deception, for sure. But there’s another side to that deception, one that I focus on in Chapter Ten. There is often a terribly disturbing, perverted reading of many holy texts in the Scriptures, a sexual focus that produces horrific and deviant interpretations. I was so troubled after writing the final lines to that chapter that I went into another room in our house where my wife was doing some work and broke down crying. To be sure, there are “gay Christian” advocates who have accused me of cherry picking and just looking for perverted interpretations, but the truth is that I simply began to build up a library of major “gay Christian” volumes (actually, getting some “gay Jewish” books as well), and then I began to go through the material and document what I found. Even then, I could not get myself to reproduce some of the quotes – they were just too vile – and I had to summarize some of the content. Of course, I’m aware that not all “gay Christians” read the Bible this way, but to the extent they claim that God made them gay, that their same-sex, sexual relationships can be sanctioned by God, and that, perhaps, men like David and Jonathan or women like Ruth and Naomi were gays and lesbians, to that extent they have seriously misrepresented the Lord and hurt themselves.

GCMW: Look forward about 10 years in America and tell me what you see with this issue.

MB: Barring some kind of spiritual awakening that leads to a moral and cultural revolution, that’s a very frightening prospect. I see the complete normalizing of homosexuality, bisexuality, and transgenderism to the point that anyone who does not affirm all manner of GLBT identification and behavior will be viewed by society as a bigoted extremist, akin to a member of the KKK. I see schools across the nation fully embracing a full-fledged, gay-slanted curriculum, with no option for parents to opt their kids out, and with strong encouragement for kids to “come out” as GLBT at younger and younger ages (becoming sexually active at younger and younger ages as well; in fact, given enough time, there will be a push to lower the age of consent). In fact, I could easily see gay-slanted curricula being mandated for private religious schools and even home schools. I see the complete breaking down of the “gender dichotomy,” so that more and more people will identify as genderless or multi-gender or gender non-conforming, to the point that men in dresses using a ladies room will be considered quite normal. I see same-sex marriages becoming the law of the land, meaning, once again, that those who do not affirm such unions will be codified as bigots (which, of course, will also be the case as for more “non-discrimination” laws are passed based on gender identity and sexual orientation). I see religious liberties and freedoms of conscience being negated by sexual liberties and freedoms, and I see it becoming illegal for counselors and therapists and, one day, even pastors, to tell homosexuals that they can change their sexual orientation – and this is just for starters. And yet deep down, I believe that God will have mercy on our land and send an awakening, but only if we get to a point of spiritual desperation.

GCMW: A New York Times story recently revealed that gay marriage is devoid of the same sexual standards (like adultery) of biblical heterosexual marriage. Is this something that could eventually spread to the general population of marriage?

MB: You’re talking about what some homosexual men call “open monogamy,” which means that they are primarily involved with one person – living together with some level of commitment, possibly even a formal marriage certificate – and yet they acknowledge there will not be complete sexual fidelity. In fact, some of them are convinced that this is the key to a long-term, successful relationship. In my opinion, this reflects two things: First, it reflects the fact that two men do not have the moderating, tempering effect of a woman in their lives, hence their sexual appetites and fixations are not moderated as would happen in a normal, male-female relationship. It is a well-documented fact (and I discuss it in the book) that homosexual and bisexual men are more sexually active than heterosexual men. Second, it reflects the general moral collapse of our culture, where premarital sex has been the norm for more than a generation; where more and more kids are born out of wedlock; where TV shows celebrate adultery and polyamory and polygamy and where being a prostitute or stripper is something to be celebrated.

GCMW: It’s hard to believe that Christian publishers were afraid to publish the book. Has it gotten that bad?

MB: Yes, it has gotten that bad. I did discuss the project with one particular Christian publisher, and we agreed that what they were looking for and what I was writing were not the best match. Beyond that, it was simply a matter of rejecting the manuscript for a number of reasons (despite my good publishing record as the successful author of twenty books). For some, this was a lost war already. No need to beat a dead horse! For others, this was the wrong strategy. In other words, let’s not fight these cultural battles anymore, let’s just love the people. Others felt the contents were too controversial; all felt the name needed to change (which is so ironic in that the many secular and LGBT folks I talked with about the title had no objection to it all, with some really liking it). I was told by some that they agreed with the book but it would be too costly to publish (this was from a strong conservative publisher who feared bookstore boycotts of his other titles and loss of good authors), and all this was before the book got to be as long as it was, so the length wasn’t the issue then. Others told me plainly the subject just wouldn’t sell today. In no case did anyone criticize the research, the quality of the writing, or the accuracy of the content, nor did anyone take issue with the tone of the book itself.

GCMW: We think homosexual activism is the new social bully on the block. With such overbearing demands of acceptance being forced so relentlessly, why don’t we see the church community fighting with more passion?

MB: It is because to a great extent, many church leaders have lost their courage. On the one hand, we don’t want to be perceived as intolerant, and the moment we are compared with segregationists and slave-owners of the past, we cave in, not having good answers when we are accused of lacking love. Sadly, many Christians were on the wrong side of these issues in our past, and we don’t want to be on the wrong side again, and so, even though we disagree with homosexual practice, we dare not speak up against it. But it goes deeper than that. It’s too costly. We might offend some congregants. We might rustle some feathers. We might get an angry protest outside our lovely building. We might get blasted in the local newspaper. The way of compromise is much easier, and we subtly and unconsciously justify it in the name of wisdom or love. And yet it goes even deeper than that. In many ways, this is just a symptom of our larger compromise with the world, our failure to take up the cross and follow Jesus, the culture changing us rather than us changing the culture. Dr. Martin Luther King spoke this very relevant warning, and I truly believe it is a picture of what we have become today. He said, “The Church must be reminded that it is not the master or the servant of the state, but rather the conscience of the state. It must be the guide and the critic of the state, and never its tool. . . . If the Church does not recapture its prophetic zeal, it will become an irrelevant social club without moral or spiritual authority.”

GCMW: You cited an incident where a gay activist openly posted a graphic, racist death threat to me [page 81], yet nothing was done to him. What do you think would have happened had I done the same to him?

MB: Your face might have been blasted all over the internet and the news media as the latest example of a “God hates fags” preacher, and worse still, you might have been charged with instigating a hate crime of some sort. This much is sure: It’s a lot worse to be labeled anti-gay than anti-black today.

GCMW: I’m interested to know if any prominent church leaders have weighed in on the book. If not, do you think they will?

MB: I’m getting some very encouraging comments from family ministry leaders so far – to the point of saying that this is now THE book on the subject and it should be mandatory reading for all Christian leaders – but their endorsement is not surprising, although I’m blessed by their enthusiasm. As for other, prominent church leaders, some are coming out with strong endorsements, but they are the more socially active types. In contrast, one mega-church pastor, who is a good friend of mine, told me that there is not another mega-church pastor he knows in his city who will even address the issue of homosexuality from the pulpit – even in terms of sexual behavior as opposed to gay activism. That being said, because I’ve had a good track record of ministry for several decades, including being a seminary professor, being involved in world missions, in Jewish outreach, and in revival movements, and because, by God’s grace, don’t rail against those who oppose me, some are willing to rally together with me. Also, things are declining so rapidly around us that they’re realizing they must wake up to what’s happening and take a stand. But I might be too optimistic. This is a tough nut to crack right now, not because of spiritual enlightenment but because of spiritual apathy and confusion.

Dear Oprah,

On Wednesday, May 25th, your last and final show that, for 25 years, your guidance, inspiration as well as spiritual enlightenment, will have all come to an end.

Many have watched you throughout the years transform from a mere talk show host of sub-standard entertainment about cheaters, womanizers and cross-dressers, to become one of America’s most beloved spiritual advisors on life, community and spiritual awareness. To suggest your impact on our culture was a small one is an understatement to say the least. You have captured the hearts and minds of people around the globe like no other today. The world will be celebrating your work and labor for humanity, and rightly so. You deserve everything the world would lay at your feet, for you are one of it’s own.

But I for one will not be celebrating your life’s achievements, nor will I be dripping with emotional goo when you absorb all of the accolades people will be pouring at your feet. For it is you dear Oprah, that has caused more confusion, perversion and deceit than any other person in our current time. Actually, I can think of no one to this day who comes close to you when it involves a false teacher or religious leader that could invoke their lies and impact a people the way you have done.

From your spiritual teachings and subtle indoctrination of pagan beliefs into the minds of people everywhere, your concept of “higher power” through discovering oneself by opening up to the spirit world, has caused many to believe a lie and be damned for it. How many people in these 25 years of your time in influencing people across the nation and the world, have died lost and are now in hell because of listening to you and your foolish babble? How many Christians to this day, have sadly bought into your lie of “spiritual awareness” by accepting the idea that there is more than one way to heaven, like you stated in a past episode in which you said, “There can’t possibly be just one way to God.” Then there was your other less notable quote in which you stated, “If Jesus claimed exclusive divinity, it would make Jesus the biggest egotist that ever lived”.

Then there was Jo Baldwin, your first cousin, now a professor at Mississippi Valley State whom you hired back in the late 80‘s for nearly three years and quickly fired within two. Your reason? Ms. Baldwin spoke about Jesus Christ during her time at Harpo, which you seemed to dislike. But your aversion to the gospel is not just limited to simple sound bites and testy confrontations of past employees, your distaste for the true Christ is seen in your continuing support of another gospel – and their preachers.

Della Reese, Shirley MacLaine, Michael Aquino, Raymond Moody, Shakti Gawain, Betty Eadie and Deepak Chopra are all celebrated new agers and spiritualist’s you lifted up and praised as many who listened to you bought into their lies, hook, line and sinker. Again, you have achieved much more than most false teachers in your 25 year span. But it is your connection and love for Maya Angelou, a noted new age believer, that has hindered you from the truth. For every false teacher, there must be a student, and Maya was your teacher just as much as noted new age philosopher Eric Butterworth was hers, you are both intertwined together at the root and this root was anything but Godly, or holy. Like the student you were, you grew under her guidance and soaked in every whim and doctrine that uttered out of her mouth and now YOU are the teacher.

Then it was your push for tolerance teaching in our culture and the acceptance of all ideas and beliefs, especially homosexuality, which you seemed to have a much high regard for, that made me suspect to your agenda. Your ongoing endeavor to push for the acceptance of homosexuality seemed to be at the top of your “bucket list” and it is this agenda that you have pushed that has brought even more confusion on people caught up into this lie. But this was the plan all along as with every demonic lie Satan uses to deceive people with, you were simply his pawn.

Forgive me if I won’t be celebrating your 25 years of service to our culture, our society and your enduring attempts to radicalize a culture to reject the gospel and what we, as Christians have come to love and cherish. For it will be this same gospel you have rejected all of your life that will judge you if you do not repent and turn to Jesus Christ today.

So enjoy your moment, you obviously deserve it. But I’ll be praying that God has mercy on your life and offers you that chance to repent and come to Christ before you leave this world, for if you so choose not to repent, those 25 years of achievement will seem like mere seconds to eternity when you stand before God and give an account for the lies and false teachings you have fostered in the hearts and minds of people across the world. And on that day, your answer will be telling indeed.

In this case, queer is never a good thing.

Charlotte based Coalition of Conscience founder Dr. Michael Brown appeared on Sid Roth’s television program, “It’s Supernatural” to talk about his  new book  “A Queer Thing Happened to America.”  During the interview Brown revealed that no Christian publisher wanted to touch his book because of the fear that the homosexual community would come down on them hard and virtually cause them economic loss. One literary agent told him to change the title of the book because a publisher believed the title was to controversial. This eventually caused Brown to self- publish the book.  It has been one of amazon.com’s top selling…and most controversial. Based on some of the comments from the customer review section this book definitely has edge.

In the interview, Dr. Brown touches on the subject that the homosexual agenda has impacted all facets of America life and driving American society more tolerant and accepting to homosexuality. Sadly, the church is following the lead of culture and not the Word of God.

In April, just a month after Dr. Brown interviewed with Sid Roth, the California Senate passed  Senate Bill 58.  This legislation would require California public schools to add gay history to its already overcrowded curriculm.   This  bill is now waiting to be approved by the California  State Assembly.   A Queer Thing is Always Happening in California that is for sure ( here, here, here).  This is further confirmation of what Dr. Michael Brown has spoken in his interview and written about in his book.  Please take out the time and view Dr. Michael Brown’s interview with Sid Roth.
