Prelude: satan’s messengers declaring the battle over
Premature victory party?
Its happened before, so this is no surprise to see satan methodically releasing his emissaries into the public arena to declare that the battle is over and the people of God should surrender. You will see more of this in the coming years. Societal voices who are influential, socially and religiously ecumenical and accomplished will declare that any opposition to homosexuality is futile. We have told you before and say again the promotion and defense of homosexuality is a signal weapon in the antichrist push to destroy the church of the Living God. We must understand the times and seasons. This didn’t just began with the modern gay rights movement, its been in the plan since Sodom. Jesus specifically told us that. In short, we are on the cusp of an inevitable war.
But before all out battle takes place satan is attempting to beat down as much resistance as possible.
The messaging now combines an insistent yet syrupy tone. That’s to convince those with marginal commitment to the Lord Jesus to voluntarily silence themselves on the issue. Incrementally, it will grow to demands and then finally threats and persecution against anyone who will not fall in line with the “new reality”. All the elements are in place: government (illegitimate authority), religion (credibility) and media (to amplify the false prophet’s voice).
First, what we call history is repetitive. After some disastrous human madness occurs, people swear “never again!”. But then they unwittingly turn and empower the next madman or mad movement to do it all over again. Since the tower of babel, we are caught in a cycle of humanism that disavows God’s sovereignty. Thus, humanity will circle in the wilderness until he comes and puts all foes under his feet. Satan, is the consummate opportunist who manipulates every evil work to his advantage. His agenda can be summed up in 3 words: kill, steal and destroy. And he will use anyone to accomplish that goal.
This isn’t just antichrist spring fever. There’s no way to talk about what we are seeing and hearing on the world stage and in our own country without inclusion of the “spirit of the antichrist” as a significant factor. Michealjournal.com explains:
“Before Christ’s second coming the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers. (Cf. Luke 18:8: ‘But when the Son of man comes, will he find any faith on earth?’ and Mathew 24:12: 12: ‘And with the increase of lawlessness, love in most people will grow cold.’) The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth (cf. Luke 21:12; John 15:19-20) will unveil the ‘mystery of iniquity’ in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth. the supreme religious deception is that of the Antichrist, a pseudo-messianism by which man glorifies himself in place of God and of his Messiah come in the flesh. (Cf. 2 Th 2:4-12; I Th 5:2-3; 2 Jn 7; I Jn 2:1 8, 22.)
Epic battles
That’s why —if you read your bible— the spirit of the antichrist is both predictable and astonishingly oblivious to the historical facts where God has defeated him with little to no effort. You can almost clock its point by point progression. Allow me to refresh your memory.
The first example occurs in 1 Chronicles 20:1-24. The aggressors are two countries God had spared on Isreal’s march to the promised land. This was treacherous aggression. You should read it carefully and watch how God masterfully allows it to play out. You will witness what happens when the tide is against the people of God. Several things of note:
- Messengers were sent out in advance to spread intimidation and fear.
- The king was told a “vast army” was coming against him and Isreal. Just like today we are being told that more and more people are joining the gay is okay army against dwindling number of people who will be on the “wrong side of history”.
- Numbers and perceived victories have no bearing with God. In fact, the greater the numbers and odds stacked against us, the better. It allows for God to showcase his power.
- We are expected to suit up for war and go out as if we are going to fight but its only part of his plan to embolden the enemy’s rage against us. Again, he wants to push their threats to absolute maximum to show how great he is.
- Defeat of our foes will be utter and complete.
The second case I want you to examine is from 2 Kings 18:17-36 which concludes at 2 Kings 19. This time the aggressor is the arrogant leader of the Assyrians. And take note that
- A messenger is sent out in advance to spread intimidation and fear
- The aggressor brags how he has taken down others who have opposed him
- The numbers against the people of God were overwhelming
- A personal insult is issued against God
- The enemy suffers a stunning and decisive defeat
In both cases, each king of Isreal and Judah plead their case directly to God, calling on him to remember the threats of the enemy. And God sends a prophet to tell them what will happen.
Enter the rat maker
Don’t become a experimental lab rat by listening to the messengers of satan.
This time a member of USA Today’s board of contributors whose gangly contemproism all but crows “the battle is over”. Tom Krattenmaker‘s opinion editorial about Christian leaders confronting homosexuality is making its rounds. Krattenmaker is predicting that a coalition of cultural giants led by the homosexual movement will inevitably vanquish the voice of the righteous. To avoid defeat, he suggests we either “adapt” or turn our attention to “other things”. First Krattenmaker cites several “victories” in favor of gay rights which he claims are signals that the battle has turned in favor of the giants of perversion. Don’t you find it bizarre that anyone would root for Goliath? Krattenmaker does.
“If the repeal of “don’t ask, don’t tell” weren’t enough to signal the turning point, or the classification of several gay-resisting Christian right organizations as “hate groups” by the Southern Poverty Law Center, there came news that Exodus International was ending its involvement in the anti-homosexuality “Day of Truth” in U.S. high schools.”
Get the message? If you resist the gay change patrols, you will be marginalized. People like Krattenmaker see the hordes of goose stepping gay rights troops and “allies” seeming to defeat every opponent in their path. They see the social, political, religious victories. They see that many religions are fearfully caving in and “welcoming” homosexuals despite what the scriptures teach. They see that the government has taken their side and come to the premature conclusion that these things mean certain defeat for those of us who stubbornly stand against homosexuality. Listen at the litany of threats satan’s messenger has come to deliver.
“Prayerful discernment and simple Christian decency would strongly suggest the latter. The alternative looks worse by the day — a quixotic battle more likely to discredit its fighters and their fine religion than win any hearts and minds for Jesus. Christianity has far worthier causes than this.
For all its drama and rally-the-troops appeal, “fighting to the end” is a sure loser. More and more Americans — young people in particular, Christians very much included — know gay men and lesbians and see how the anti-gay talking points and caricatures fail to square with the reality under our noses.” (our bold)
Conservative Christian leaders ought to be very careful about their rhetoric going forward — careful not to continue giving the impression that being Christian is in large measure about opposing gay rights, and careful not to let the public expression of their faith become primarily associated with something that looks, sounds and feels like hate to growing segments of the population.
Fighting to the end might sound gallant, but it’s not a road to glory so much as a ticket to infamy — an infamy akin to that borne by the likes of Bull Connor, George Wallace and other villains of civil rights history. Is that any hill for Christians to die on?
So what shall we say to all these threats? Let the Word of the Lord answer:
The LORD is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life of whom shall I be afraid?
When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes
who will stumble and fall.
Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me,
even then I will be confident. Psalms 27:1-3
Wait on the LORD and keep His way, and He shall exalt thee to inherit the land; when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it. 35I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree. 36Yet he passed away, and lo, he was no more; yea, I sought him, but he could not be found Psalms 37:34-36
DON: Abortion and occultism get 21st century makeovers
Jesus said in Luke 17:26-30, “And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when Son of man is revealed.”
As a 1st century rabbi, Jesus, like most Jewish teachers, coupled Sodom and the flood generation as signal images of evil. His intent was to inform his audience that at His second coming the conditions of the world would mirror Noah’s days and the days of Sodom and Gomorrah. As stated in a previous gcmwatch article ”Jesus, the Days of Noah, and Same-Sex Marriage,” same-sex marriage originally took place in the days of Noah. Its heterosexual twin abomination was child murder in the womb.
A historical glimpse of abortion in the Days of Noah
The book of Enoch was written before the birth of Christ and although it is not an inspired book, its a good resource (some of it is quoted in the Book of Jude). First Enoch 69:13 has an interesting quote on abortion. It mentions a fallen angel named “Kasadya” who teaches mankind the knowledge of aborting babies within the womb of a woman. People were seduced into following the paradigm of the occult. Occult is defined as any system (particularly magic and astrology) which claims use of secret knowledge through supernatural powers or agencies. Occult knowledge is forbidden by God and violates His Word.
The Jewish writings of the Midrash Rabbah Genesis state that the “Nephilim” used the unrestrained sexual conduct of the to multiply abortions in the world because the people of Noah’s time were licentious or sexually unrestrained. It was sexual immorality that eventually led to the origination of abortion through the occult.
Genesis 6 says that the Earth was filled with violence, all flesh was corrupt, and that the wickedness of men was so great that their imagination and thoughts were continually evil. Every type of abominable act was performed including the division of abortion and the actual act of abortion. Hands that shed innocent blood and a heart that devised wicked imagination are abominations that the Lord hates ( Proverbs 6:16-18).
The faces of child hate evolve and emerge
As modernism gave way to postmodernist ideology, satan introduced a new kill strategy aimed at the most vulnerable: unborn children. His plan was to teach people to systematically murder and connect it to common sexual sin. Satan hates children because according to Psalms 127:3, children are a gift of God. Thus, satan has dispatched his ministers to destroy children as quickly and as efficiently as possible. As we fast forward to the early twentieth century, we see the foundations of abortion springing directly from satanic devotion.
Alice Bailey
Alice Bailey (June 16, 1880 – December 15, 1949) was an occultist and founder of Lucis Trust (Lucifer Trust) and Lucis Publishing (Lucifer Publishing). In her book Education in the New Age, Bailey laid out a ten point strategy to destroy Christianity. Of note: points 3,4 and5. Point three of the strategy was to remove restrictions on sex. Bailey believed sex was “big joy” and Christianity robbed people of it. The fourth point of Bailey’s strategy stated that since sex is the greatest expression of man’s enjoyment of life, man must be free to express sex in all its forms. Bailey had no problem with homosexuality, orgies or even bestiality just as long as no one was being abused or harmed. Lastly, she states in point five that people must be free to abort unwanted children. She taught that if men can have sex and live without the consequences, then the same should apply to women. This writing of Bailey helped fuel emerging deception that abortion was just a mere method of birth control and not murder.
Margaret Sanger
Planned Parenthood’s founder Margaret Sanger (September 14, 1879 – September 6, 1966) was without question a significant catalyst in contemporary legal child murder. Not only was Sanger a treacherous racist, she too was heavily involved in the occult. She was a disciple of Theosophy (the worship of Lucifer/Satan). Its founder Madame Blavatsky , Alice Bailey and Adolf Hitler were disciples of Theosophy. Sanger was a racist, occultist, and in real terms a serial slut. She practiced sleeping with multiple partners which she called her “voluntary mates.” Sanger claimed that she was a god. And like most madmen, her delusions of divine grandeur has led to fifty million(and counting) innocent deaths in America. These deaths caused by abortion are otherwise known as ”America’s Secret Holocaust.” Sanger was a contemporary of COGIC’s founder Charles Harrison Mason (September 8, 1866 – November 17, 1961).
Gloria Steinem
Towards the end of the 1960s the feminist movement gave birth to activist and co-founder of Ms. magazine Gloria Steinem. Like abortion advocates before her, Steinem embraced occultic mysticism known as theosophy. In the Sep-Oct 95 edition of Ms. Steinem was quoted as saying, “Witches were freedom fighters for women because they taught contraception and abortion. The modern contribution is to elevate reproductive freedom to a universal human right.” Her statement makes it clear that not only is abortion immoral and murderous, its roots are demonic.
A minister of satan: abortion gets a black disciple
The 21st century purveyors of death by abortion have changed their image considerably. Now they present themselves as respectable and religious. One of the prized 21st century Black disciples of Bailey, Sanger, and Steinem that has grasped their principles is the “Rev”. Carlton Veazey, President of the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice. Veazey’s bio says he is currently the pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church. He has stated that abortion not only is a constitutional right, but also a woman’s God given right to do, at a 2009 abortion rally on Capitol Hill sponsored by Planned Parenthood, NARAL Pro-Choice and others.
In 1999 this minister of satan received the Gloria Steinem Award from the Ms. Foundation for his work in ”helping ” ( read: deceiving) African-American churches address sexuality issues and violence against women. In 2001 he received the Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington Championship of Choice Partnership award. Let’s look at the awards more closely. The Gloria Steinem Award is given in “honor” of a woman who praised witches as freedom fighters for women for teaching abortion and contraception, and reproductive freedom. Veazey’s award from Planned Parenthood is in “honor” of a race hater who founded Planned Parenthood specifically as a vehicle to kill off black children in the womb. Time to wakeup Black Church, abortion is serious issue in the Black community and false church leaders like Veazey are spreading death and immorality without a challenge. When church leaders do not inform their members of the real agenda of the abortion industry, they are in essence dipping their fingers in the blood of innocents.
What Veazey won’t tell you because he is a disciple of Bailey, Sanger and Steinem are the deadly facts about abortion and Black women:
- over 1000 abortions are done on Black women every day in the U.S.,
- almost all of the babies and moms are healthy, almost all of these abortions are done for non-medical reasons,
- virtually none of the pregnancies were the result of rape or incest,
- virtually none of the pregnancies posed a threat to the lives or health of the moms[source].
Women are getting abortions because they want to continue in unrestrained sexual immorality. This is not only in culture but and in church world. The licentiousness taking place in our nation is resulting in an explosion of abortions since 1973 ( 13 million black babies and 53 million babies total). Bailey, Sanger, Steinem, and Veazey may deceive women into thinking the world’s way of so-called reproductive freedom is through abortion, but all it produces is death and destruction to your soul. If you had an abortion, repent and ask Jesus Christ to forgive you. Or if you or someone else is pressuring you, resist it and get help.
Out of the millions that populated earth prior to the flood, God spared only eight. Jesus and Judgment is coming again and only the righteous will escape the fire that will consume all sin and those who enjoy its temporal pleasures.
UFCM Convocation reprise Canaanite religious abomination
The uber weird, dead ancestor worshipping Unity Fellowship Church Movement is sponsoring a drag queen contest to spice up its 2010 Convocation. The Los Angeles based denomination is grasping for new lows in an effort to appear relevant to a group of people who are blind to God’s word.
Called “Bright Life: The Illumination”, the bizarre and dark entertainment event is being headlined by the winner of a reality TV cross dressing show.
But let’s look at it from God’s perspective. He has already spoken on this and the verdict is holy.
A woman must not wear men’s clothing, nor a man wear women’s clothing, for the LORD your God detests anyone who does this. ” Deuteronomy 22:5
Deuteronomy 22:5 strikes not only at the act of wearing attire of the opposite gender but also at the intent behind it. God’s holy requirements for his people meant that they were not to adopt, approve or practice the customs and religious rituals of inhabitants of the promised land. Notably, the religion of the Canaanites was infused with sexual perversion. It was one of the most sexually vile cultures of antiquity. From History World.org:
The Baalim and the Baalot, gods and goddesses of the Earth, were believed to be the revitalizes of the forces of nature upon which agriculture depended. The revitalization process involved a sacred marriage (hieros gamos), replete with sexual symbolic and actual activities between men, representing the Baalim, and the sacred temple prostitutes (qedeshot), representing the Baalot. Canaanite myths incorporating such fertility myths are represented in the mythological texts of the ancient city of Ugarit (modern Ras Shamra) in northern Syria; though the high god El and his consort are important as the first pair of the pantheon, Baal and his sexually passionate sister-consort are significant in the creation of the world and the renewal of nature.
The UFCM is carrying on the religious sexual idolatry of the Canaanites. And just like the Canaanites, its fairly clear this denomination has no intention of even considering what God says is detestable to him.

False teaching and the sexual immorality connection

False teaching has always had a strong correlation with sexual immorality since the Old Testament times. Baal worship, which encompasses polytheism, idolatry, and sexual immorality was against Yahweh’s commandments and laws He established with the nation of Israel. Jezebel and Ahab were prime examples of Old Testament figures that corrupted Israel with the false teaching that Baal and Ashtoreth. Their teachings stated that they were the god and goddess to be worship along with Yahweh. They also taught that indulgence in sexual immorality was a part of temple worship.
In the New Testament there were many teachers who integrated false teachings into the teachings of the church as a method Christians away from the true gospel of Jesus Christ. The most popular type of false teaching is known as Gnostic teaching. It was used to subvert the gospel and incorporated sexually immorality. It was used to subvert the gospel.
Revelation 2:14-15, 20 talks about doctrines of Balaam and Nicolaitans, and the prophetess Jezebel. Through their doctrine, people were led into believing that leading a life of sexual immorality was okay. Anyone could lead an ungodly lifestyle and practice idolatry without affecting their relationship with Christ Jesus. The false teachers of that era were perverting the truth of God’s Word.
There are also examples of men in and around our time that are or were false teachers. Their connection with sexual immorality and perverted teaching was brought about by their own perverted sexual appetites.
Detroit’s Prophet Jones
One of the most prominent black ministers and so called prophet of the 1940s and 1950s was considered being queer/homosexual was Detroit’s Prophet Jones (James Frances Jones). Jones built a religious empire on pimping the poor disenfranchised Black people in and around his area. Jones would pay for a hundred newspapers with a picture of him for ten cents each. He would then turn around and sell them for five dollars each claiming the papers had “miraculous curative” properties. He lived like a millionaire, drove luxury cars, and lived in a mansion[source]. False Prophet Jones taught that all men would become immortal by the year 2000. He said they would not go to heaven, but heaven would be brought down to earth abolishing death.
So was “Profit” Jones right about his prophecy? After all, it is now 2010! What happened with all men becoming immortal by the year 2000?
Father Divine
Now George Baker Jr., better known as Father Divine, arose in the late 1910s. He founded the International Peace Mission. He believed he was God and was worshipped as God by his followers. Although Divine preached sexual abstinence to his followers; he did not practice what he preached. He was not only perverse in his teachings and doctrine, but he was also perverted sexually. Father Divine would tell his mistresses, “When I have sex relations with you I am bringing your desires to the surface so that I can eliminate it, god is the only one who can do as he pleases”[source]. Doesn’t that sound like Genesis 3:5? Father Divine was best known for being the mentor of Jim Jones. Yup you guess it right. The same Jim Jones that led over nine hundred people down to Guyana to eventually drink poison kool-aid in a mass suicide.
Jim Jones
Jim Jones was a mentee of Father Divine. He structured his People’s Temple in the same fashion as Divine’s International Peace Mission. Jones also thought he was God. He sexually abused some of his followers and was bisexual. In short, he was a sexual pervert and taught many false doctrines. Jones believed in reincarnation which was a doctrine he picked up from his mentor Father Divine. Jim Jones eventually attempted to take over Divine’s International Peace Mission in 1972 after his mentor’s death. Jones had claimed to be Father Divine reincarnated. Jones was a “spiritual murderer” with his lies and false teaching. He led 909 people to mass suicide down in the jungles of Guyana, leading them all too eternal damnation.
David Berg
The group Children of God (now called The Family International), was founded by David Berg in the late 1960s as a Christian organization. Berg established all sorts of wild teachings for his group. Berg’s method to gain proselyte was to introduced “flirty fishing” in 1974. This is when he encouraged female members to have sex with potential members to show God’s love. By 1978 it was a wide spread among members, and in some areas “flirty fishers” used escort services to meet people. It was also a means to raise money for the group. Talk about evangelism!
Some of the other beliefs of the group were that[source]:
● Female bisexuality is sanctioned,
● Spirit helpers (i.e.: angels; departed humans and goddesses) give spiritual instruction,
● Otherwise known as bridal theology, members visualized that they were having sex with Jesus through sexual intercourse or masturbation. Male members were to visualize they were women to prevent having homosexual relationship with Jesus.
Berg was seen as the prophet of the group and was called Moses David or King David. Since he is now deceased he is looked at as one of the spirit helpers. He was known for being outspoken and reputed as an anti-Semite and pedophile.
David Koresh
David Koresh was the leader of the branch Davidians. The Davidians was a group that broke off from the Seventh Day Adventist. Koresh moved to Waco, Texas in 1981 to join the branch Davidians and in 1983 claimed he had the gift of prophecy. He then started an affair with the prophetess and leader of the group Lois Roden who was in her late sixties at that time. She began to let Koresh teach. Roden died in 1986 and Koresh took over the group and begin to teach polygamy. He taught that he was entitled to 140 wives, sixty women as his queens, and eighty as his concubines. He based this teaching on his interpretation of the Song of Solomon. Eventually Koresh and his group were killed in 1993 in a standoff with the federal government. His followers followed him to their death.
Todd Bentley
In most recent times false perverse evangelist/prophet Todd Bentley, who lead the false Lakeland, Florida Revival, had an affair on his wife with a female ministry staffer[source]. He later divorced his wife to marry this woman. Bentley was like a shooting star. He led this revival for a couple of months in 2008. However, he exhibit perverse behavior before the Lakeland Revival by getting multiple tattoos and body piercings well after being a Christian for a length of time. Not only was Bentley sexually immoral, his teaching was through a “perverse spirit.” Bentley received messages and wild revelations from a female angel Emma. He was quoted as saying Emma was an angel of the prophetic. There are two essential problems with this.
The first is that biblically, angels always appear in the human form as male. Secondly, the moving of the true prophetic ministry is always through the Holy Spirit and not an angel. In truth, Emma is a demonic spirit that influenced Bentley. In Japanese mythology, Emma is known as the demon god. Emma-O is the lord of death or the god of the underworld. Bentley’s perverse teaching lines up with his perverse lifestyle and this perverse spirit Emma used him to deceive many during that False Lakeland Revival through lying signs and wonders.
Second Peter two verses one through three says, “But there is false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.”
In these last days, there will be an increase of false teachers and false prophets. As true Christians we must be established in the Word of God, have the ability through the Holy Spirit to discern spirits, and lastly know ministers by the fruit they bear and not through lying signs and wonders. We need to guard ourselves from deception.
The passive church redux
Leon J. Podles holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of Virginia and is the author of The Church Impotent: The Feminization of Christianity and the forthcoming License to Sin.
In his just released article “Unhappy fault: on the integration of anger into the virtous life”, which appeared in Touchstone Magazine, Dr. Podles writes a rather stunning analysis of the contemporary Christian church and its failure (or fear) to properly employ Godly anger to effect change. In particular, on destructive moral issues of sexual immorality and sexual crimes by clergy, Dr. Podles says the church is bound by “emotional deformation”.
If you have ever asked yourself what in God’s name is wrong with today’s church with so much shocking open sin, blasphemy, heresy and likes going virtually unchallenged, this will answer why.
Laurie Higgins of the Illnois Family Institute said the article is of “critical and urgent importance to both the life of the church and Amercan society.” I agree.
Writes Dr. Podles:
Any institution tends to preserve itself by avoiding conflict, whether external or internal. In addition to this universal tendency, many Christians have a false understanding of the nature and role of anger. It is seen as something negative, something that a Christian should not feel.
In the sexual abuse cases in the Catholic Church, those who dealt with the bishops have consistently remarked that the bishops never expressed outrage or righteous anger, even at the most horrendous cases of abuse and sacrilege. Bishops seem to think that anger at sin is un-Christian. Gilbert Kilman, a child psychiatrist, commented, “What amazes me is the lack of outrage the church feels when its good work is being harmed. So, if there is anything the church needs to know, it needs to know how to be outraged.”
Cowards in the army of the Lord?
Some today believe secret prayer is a panacea for all of the church’s problems. And while there is absolutely nothing wrong with prayer, there is something wrong with using prayer as an cloak for fearful inaction. Certainly, God has not given us the spirit of fear. Taking the path of least resistance in order to avoid confronting aggressive attacks on our faith is nothing short of cowardly.
Higgins’ commentary looked at the passive stance of the German Evangelical Church in Germany as Adolf Hitler began gaining power and the parallels are eye opening. She noted:
The German Evangelical Church acted in ways virtually all Christians now view as ignoble, selfish, and cowardly:
- Pastors resigned from the resistance out of fear that they might lose their positions in the church.
- Frightened by the boldness of the resistance movement, church leaders issued public statements of support for Hitler and the Third Reich.
- Some pastors believed that a “‘more reasonable tone would be more honoring to those with different views.’” One bishop told Martin Niemoller that those pastors who refused to join the resistance were “‘trying to bring peace to the church’” rather than “‘seem like . . . troublemakers.’” In response, Niemoller asked “‘What does it matter how we look in Germany compared with how we look in Heaven?’” The bishop responded, “‘We cannot pronounce judgment on all the ills of society. Most especially we ought not single out the one issue that the government is so sensitive about.’”
Most alarming she said about the two seasons of crisis is “its similarity to the ongoing disheartening story of the contemporary American church’s failure to respond appropriately to the spread of radical, heretical, destructive views of homosexuality.”
Since July 2007, we have painstakingly documented some of the most egregious examples of blasphemy and heresy occurring in the Christian context today. That’s not to mention the epidemic of sexual misconduct among black clergy. Yet, it has barely elicited a yawn from those in leadership. As Dr. Podles notes, the church’s sleepy-eyed attitude seems to say “let’s just all get along and be happy”. Its really a desire to protect what they have sold themselves to gain: money, positions, influence and prestige. This is what really controls them rather than any concern for what has already breached the doors of the church. Dr. Podles says we should emulate Jesus and allow righteous anger to move us into righteous action.
“The emotions that are now suppressed are hatred and anger. Christians think that they ought not to feel these emotions, that it is un-Christian to feel them. They secretly suspect that Jesus was being un-Christian in his attitude to the scribes and Pharisees when he was angry at them, that he was un-Christian when he drove the moneychangers out of the temple or declared that millstones (not vacations in treatment centers) were the way to treat child abusers.”
Make no mistake, we are not talking about bombing abortion clinics, killing abortion doctors or committing acts of violence against homosexuals. That is demonic. But there is a doable balance where a combination of open resistance and denunciation of wicked legislation, educating those in our circles of influence and demanding that our leaders publicly take a biblical stand. Or else.
In doing so we should never stray from the inspiration example of Moses, a man noted for his meekness.
“Meekness, which is the virtue that moderates anger, is misunderstood as passivity. Moses angrily confronting Pharaoh was the meekest of men, because he moderated the plagues to allow Pharaoh time to repent. Meekness moderates anger so that it is in accord with reason. Since most people suffer from an excess of anger, the virtue that increases anger in those who are deficient in it so that it is in accord with reason does not have a name, but it needs one.”
Jesus himself warned the indifferent church Laodiciea unless they changed their position he would violently reject them. Is he saying the same to us today? The world and those who hate the church should hear very clearly from us:
1. Our meekness is not synonymous with weakness.
2. Jesus said he was the door, not the doormat.
Alaska pastor looks at gay idolatry and the coming of the antichrist
Will the Antichrist be a homosexual? One Alaska pastor believes the scriptures reveal more than we think about the coming evil one.
Says Pastor Harmon of Independent Baptist Church in Wasila in a May 25th op-ed:
In answering this question, it is important to assert the question does not originate with me, lest someone out there think that I am bringing some new doctrine out to bolster the political climate. But as the study of Bible prophecy includes verbiage as to the behavior of the one called “that Wicked” by Paul in II Thessalonians, it is not only a legitimate question to ask, but also one to answer.
It is a legitimate question given the rise of homosexual marriage, how the gay church has thrown its weight behind it and what snippets about the antichrist the Bible reveals.
While the word “homosexual” is not in the Bible, the behavior of those who practice homosexuality, and God’s estimation of them, very definitely is. When the word came into existence I cannot tell you, but what we can say for sure is that when Noah Webster published his first dictionary in 1828, it was not included. This means that homosexuality is a modern word invented to replace the word Noah Webster did include, sodomy, defined as a crime against nature. This is historical revisionism in action.
The appearance of the word “homosexual” in the bible is a rather juvenile claim by defenders of gay christian theology but as the pastor points out the behavior is there as clear as day. Homosexual conduct has always been tied to idolatry both in the OT and NT. Its roots are deeply entwined in the “religious” practices of the peoples whom God forbade his people to associate with. Specifically, the worship of Astoreth (also known as Aphrodite, Isis in their respective cultures) who was believed to have dual sexuality. The Apostle Paul carried forward this understanding by further revealing homosexuals worship each other’s bodies as gods, having rejected the true God.
Pastor Hamman points out something else perhaps not brought out before:
While the Genesis account does not graphically describe their sin, leading some to deny it as being the same as homosexuality, their sin is obviously just that by how it is described: lying with mankind as with womankind. What other conclusion can be reached when they want to “know” the men who were in Lot’s house, the same word the Bible uses in Genesis 4 in relation to the conception of Cain? And that Lot himself understood their intentions is clear; not only did he call such behavior wicked, but he also offered his virgin daughters as substitutes, which the men of Sodom refused.
And one more thing: Sodomy is the only sin for which God came down from heaven to destroy. Though God dealt with many other sins in various ways, there is no other for which he came down from heaven to verify and destroy.
Say what you will, but that is significant. Just like the only time scripture recording Christ “standing” at the right hand of God when the first martyr of the church Stephen was being murdered for telling the pharisees about their many sins.
The Alaska pastor makes a good case that the reason illicit sex has been so pervasive and profitable throughout time is due to the “desire for women”. Using Daniel 11:37 as a reference, he explains that the male antichrist will hold no regard for it. I believe Daniel 11:37 is a glimpse into the sexual nature of the antichrist as envisioned by Daniel. The word “desire” is from Hebrew chamad, which in context denotes lust associated with male/female sexuality.
From a lost perspective, the reason sex sells, pornography is profitable, and prostitution is “the world’s oldest profession” is mankind’s desire of women. From Christianity’s position, it is part of the glue for the bond of marriage and the propagation of a godly heritage. But homosexuality does not regard this — in their unbridled lusts they burn for their own gender.
But consider this: The time is ripe for such a leader. Indeed, it should not be surprising that the one who is against everything Biblical and Christian should be a partaker of so great a sin; there is no greater way to reject the Creator than to reject your gender and his design for it. And at what other time have we seen such perversion come out of the closets onto our streets, threatening violence if we do not accept their ways?
Is it any wonder that Revelation 13 says that this same Antichrist will make war with the saints of the tribulation, and overcome them? Are they not now readying themselves to make it illegal to “offend” them in any way, calling it hatred to preach against their sin? Is it because they love us? The time is ripe for such a man.
Is Pastor Hamman’s commentary just speculation or is it revelation? It is striking that the homosexual agenda (both political and religious) far surpasses any and all others in terms of its ferocity and aggression.
