Notable Quotes: Cardinal Francis George

Cardinal Francis George, head of the Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago, responding in the organization’s official newspaper to the State’s demand that citizens accept its gay marriage edicts or face social persecution

Chicago cardinal Francis George has apologised for the sexual abuse of children by Catholic priests“What was once a request to live and let live has now become a demand for approval,”  “The ‘ruling class,’ those who shape public opinion in politics, in education, in communications, in entertainment, is using the civil law to impose its own form of morality on everyone.

“We are told that, even in marriage itself, there is no difference between men and women, although nature and our very bodies clearly evidence that men and women are not interchangeable at will in forming a family.  Nevertheless, those who do not conform to the official religion, we are warned, place their citizenship in danger.

“The inevitable result is a crisis of belief for many Catholics.  Throughout history, when Catholics and other believers in revealed religion have been forced to choose between being taught by God or instructed by politicians, professors, editors of major newspapers and entertainers, many have opted to go along with the powers that be.

“This reduces a great tension in their lives, although it also brings with it the worship of a false god,”  “It takes no moral courage to conform to government and social pressure. It takes a deep faith to ‘swim against the tide.’

Bishop David Maxwell renounces all support for homosexual marriage

Good news to report amidst the serial bad news that continues to gush from the office chambers of the apostate wing of American Christianity. Bishop David Maxwell a former vocal supporter of homosexual marriage and its rider issues, strongly denounced it and renounced his support of it in an May 19th oped.

Via the Gospel Herald:

One of Lansing, Michigan’s most prominent Black pastors, Bishop David Maxwell, had been quoted in the press in May of 2012, as saying that he agreed with homosexuals and lesbians who say that so called gay marriage is a “civil right”.

bishopdavidmaxwellMaxwell, Pastor of Eliezer Temple Church in Lansing, Michigan, has also served as head of Mayor Virg Bernero’s Office of Faith-based Initiatives, was quoted as saying:

“Many of my comrades in the faith community have a struggle and cannot separate the theology with the civics of the president executing fairness and equity for all persons, It’s a civil right. The sad thing about it is: You would have thought that the African-American pastoral or theological community would have sensitivity when they themselves have struggled civil rights-wise.”

Maxwell also praised President Barack Obama for promoting an agenda to redefine marriage as other than between one man and one woman, “”I think the president is to be commended. He did not allow his own Christian philosophy or theology to dominate his presidential responsibility.” However, in a recent letter dated May 19, 2014, Bishop Maxwell has clearly changed his mind regarding his support of marriage redefinition and his criticism of predominantly Black churches as being “homophobic”.

“After reading statements attributed to me in a recent article, of which did not completely state my position on same sex marriage, and may lead some to view my statements as an endorsement of sort of same sex marriage. I am compelled to set the record straight”.

Maxwell also recanted all of his previous accusations against black churches for being “homophobic”.

Dear Elton John: please stop lying on Jesus

elton-john

During his illegal trial by the Sanhedrin Council, false witnesses were brought in to lie on Jesus. The Pharisees had no evidence to support what he was accused of, so false witnesses were needed to make the case against him stick.  Well, it seems like some things never change because people are still lying on Jesus. The latest is gay singer Elton John who ignorantly claimed, sans evidence, that Jesus would have supported homosexual marriage.

The comments were widely reported by the world press.

Sir Elton John has said he believes that Jesus would be a supporter of gay marriage. The “Daniel” singer, who hopes to marry filmmaker David Furnish next year, said he thinks that the Christian figure would have supported the union of gay members of the clergy.
Speaking to Sky News on the same weekend as the London Pride parade, Sir Elton said: “If Jesus Christ was alive today, I cannot see him, as the Christian person that he was and the great person that he was, saying this could not happen.

“He was all about love and compassion and forgiveness and trying to bring people together. And that is what the Church should be about.”

But the chart-topping artist said that the Church deserved credit for the progress that has been made in recent years. He heaped particular praise onto the Archbishop of Canterbury and Pope Francis, whom he described as a “wonderful” man who had stripped back church teaching to reveal its fundamental message of love.

Of course Elton John has no theology degree, has not attended any seminary, does not cite any supporting scripture, is not a member of any Christian church, and doesn’t even profess to be a follower of Christ, but he blindly repeats debunked gay christian ideology. That defies all types of basic logic. So lets just with a few points, prove that Elton John lied on Jesus.

1. Jesus strongly and clearly affirmed the Old Testament position  that the only legitimate relationship recognized by God was a biological male and a biological female in a covenant marriage relationship. He stated this to the exclusion of all other relationship pairings whether consensual or not. Mt 19

2. Jesus was God come in the flesh. He said that he came to earth specifically to do the will of God.  He had no other agenda except to fulfill God’s will.  John 10:30, 6:38

3. Jesus absolutely showed sinners love, compassion and forgiveness but thats only part of the story of Jesus.  To paint Jesus as such is one dimensional heresay.  Jesus said and did things the gay community considers hateful.  (a) He said  he did not come to bring peace but division Luke 12:51 (b) said that the world (unredeemed people like Elton John) hated him and would hate anyone who followed him.  John 15:18 (c) said if you didnt accept everything he said, you were not his disciple Luke 9 (d) he physically beat people in the temple defiling it with greed John 2:15 (e) called false religious leaders snakes, fools, hypocrites and blind guides.

If the church was truly like Jesus, then it would not accept homosexual sin, but rather tell them that although the church does not condemn them, go and sin no more.

Finally, Jesus said nothing about homosexual weddings, never attended one, never had friends who attended one and never even insinuated that he would ever support homosexual marriages. So Elton John, please stop lying on Jesus.

Ralph Reed: Opposing homosexuality just like opposing slavery

Ralph Reed speaks an unpopular truth. The gay rights social cartels and their adamant supporters’ ears burn with anger when someone compares homosexuality to anything other than grandma’s homemade bread pudding. But the truth is very inconvenient. White slave owners hated it too when abolitionists talked about freeing the slaves so the comparisons are very appropriate, especially during so called “gay pride” month.  GCMW has been a clear voice urging rejection of sexual slavery. Check out our posts here, here and here.

slaveSeeking to encourage social conservative activists to persevere in the fight against same-sex marriage, Faith and Freedom Coalition founder Ralph Reed drew parallels between the ongoing debate over marriage equality and the nation’s long struggle over slavery and civil rights for African-Americans.

Speaking to about 40 attendees at an afternoon breakout session during the organization’s annual “Road to Majority” conference in Washington, D.C. on Friday, Reed gave a speech in which he suggested the 1857 Dred Scott Supreme Court decision —which ruled that African American slaves remained the property of their owners even if they traveled to or resided in free states — held a lesson for contemporary conservative activists concerned about what they see as judicial overreach on the issue of gay marriage.

Before the abolitionists triumphed, Reed reminded, it appeared for many years that the courts would squash the hopes of human rights reformers.

“The battle looked like it was lost, but it really wasn’t,” Reed said of the immediate aftermath of the Dred Scott decision, which went on to embolden abolitionist activists. “And that’s kind of like where we are right now. Anybody heard lately that we’re losing the marriage issue? Anybody heard that argument? You notice some similarities? I’m not comparing slavery to same-sex marriage, OK? I’m just pointing out that when you have these fights, what’s interesting is that if you look at same-sex marriage, it’s now legal in 17 states.”

9 Careers under direct and immediate threat from gay marriage laws

The American Family Association has issued an alert to Christian professionals to be aware if they are currently in one of the following career fields. The following career fields are under direct and immediate threat from homosexual marriage aka marriage perversion laws. The AFA placed 7 professions on the list, GCM Watch added an additional two. Christian professionals should be aware that homosexuals and homosexual sympathizers may report you to authorities for expressing any belief that homosexuality is sinful, unnatural or even if you refuse to provide services for events that violate your beliefs. The following represent only a few of the attacks launched against Christians faithful to the biblical standard of morality in the last year.

Baker – A Christian baker in Oregon is facing both civil and criminal penalties, including jail time, for politely declining to bake a cake for a gay wedding ceremony. Her business has closed.

Florist – Baronelle Stutzman, a Christian florist in Washington, is being sued by the state attorney general for politely declining to prepare an arrangement for a gay wedding ceremony.

Teaching – Ms. Gillian John-Charles was kicked out of a doctoral program in education at Roosevelt University for expressing in class her belief that homosexuals aren’t born gay.

Military – Senior Master Sgt. Phillip Monk, evangelical Christian, found himself at odds with his Lackland Air Force Base commander after he objected to her plans to severely punish an instructor who had expressed religious objections to homosexuality.

Minister – Springfield, MA based American author, pastor, attorney, and activist became a frequent target of homosexuals who wanted him prosecuted for his view opposing homosexuality. Eventually gays found a judge sympathetic to their complaints and a lawsuit against him under the Alien Tort Claims Act was allowed to advance to trial.

National Baptist Convention forbids its military chaplains to conduct gay weddings

national-baptist-conventionVia Black Christian News, we learn the nation’s largest African American Baptist organization in January released an Official Policy Statement to its military chaplains telling them they ‘are not to participate in any activity that implies or condones same sex marriage or same sex union.” The National Baptist Convention with headquarters in Nashville

On June 26, 2013, the Supreme Court of the United States deemed unconstitutional Section 3 of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which states “the word ‘marriage’ means only a legal union between one man and one woman as husband and wife, and the word ‘spouse’ refers only to a person of the opposite sex who is a husband or wife.” On August 14, 2013, the Office of Secretary of Defense announced that same-gender married couples serving in the military would be entitled to receive all benefits pertinent to married couples, effective September 3, 2013.

The Office of the National Baptist Ecclesiastical Endorser recognizes and supports the rights of all people to make social and legal decisions based upon their own personal convictions, teachings, and understanding of Local, State, and Federal law. In all matters of Faith and Practice, National Baptists are guided by Holy Scriptures. Genesis 2: 18-25 shows God’s concern for relationships by creating the woman to be a partner with man.

National Baptist Endorsed Chaplains, although serving in a pluralistic environment, are not to participate in any activity that implies or condones same sex marriage or same sex union. When the Chaplain is not able to perform specific rites and services because of conflict with Bible teachings, and with their own denominational faith and practice, they will make every effort to provide for the free exercise of religion with space and resources in keeping with military regulations and federal law.

Last year their counterparts, the predominately white Southern Baptist Convention took a similar stance with its military chaplains.

“Our chaplains want to uphold the authority and relevancy of Scripture while continuing to serve in a very diverse setting,” said Doug Carver, the retired Army major general who leads NAMB’s chaplaincy efforts. “We believe these updated guidelines will help them do that while still sharing the love and the hope of Christ with everyone.”, said the denomination’s North American Missions Board.
