MCC minister’s drug and sex party leads to death
FERNDALE, MI – A minister and police chaplain from the gay christian denomination Metropolitan Community Church has been removed from his duties after a drug and sex party at his home resulted in the death of another man.
WDIV in Detroit carried the story [source]
A 43-year-old man died after a sex party Sept. 20 at the Ferndale Police chaplain’s house. Police Chaplain Rev. Mark Bidwell [facebook], who is also the minister at Ferndale’s Metropolitan Community Church, called 911 Wednesday morning to report a man at his home had stopped breathing.
“I’ve got someone who has apparently stopped breathing,” Bidwell said. He said he met the man, Steven Fitch, of Lincoln Park, on a website the night before. Bidwell told police he invited Fitch over to his house for sex and that he didn’t know anything about him.911 dispatcher: “How old is he?” Bidwell: “Honestly, I don’t even know. We just met today.” Police said Fitch brought crystal methamphetamine to Bidwell’s home and injected himself.
Fitch later died at a hospital. Bidwell told police that Fitch injected him with the drug as well. The men had sex and invited a third man over to join the party, police said. The 911 dispatcher asked Bidwell if Fitch was using any narcotics. “Um. I don’t know,” Bidwell told the dispatcher. Ferndale Mayor Dave Coulter said Bidwell is a respected member of the gay community and is involved in the entire Ferndale community. “This is not the Rev. Bidwell that I or most of us know,” Coulter said. “I am shocked and sad and worried for him. “Police said Bidwell has been relieved of his chaplain duties at the Ferndale Police Department.Police also said there was no evidence to charge Bidwell. Bidwell did not respond to Local 4′s request for comments.
This was apparently something the “respected member” of the community engaged in on a regular basis. Birdwell told police he met the man on a gay sex website and invited him over for sex.
Just several weeks prior to the deadly drug and sex party at his home, Bidwell falsely accused Reverend David C. Vorce, President and CEO of the International Fellowship of Chaplains, Inc of “advocating the murder of homosexuals”. [source] Bidwell dropped out of a chaplaincy improvement program citing fear of Vorce.
Very typical given the low standards of personal conduct for MCC clerics. According a statement from the denomination’s website, Bidwell has since resigned as pastor of the church. Notice that the only thing they were concerned with was the “illegal drug use”. Said the Rev. Dr. Nancy Wilson, Moderator of the Metropolitan Community Church:
“We are deeply saddened whenever drug addiction impacts an individual or a community. No community across this country is immune from the scourge of illegal drugs, but when it hits close to home, we are reminded of the commitment we have to teach people about the harms of drug abuse and to be a place of spiritual healing for those who are recovering.”
We’ve reported before on this gross caricature of a Christian denomination and its ministers who have portrayed Christ as a promiscuous homosexual having sex with his disciples, a prominent MCC minister who openly claimed to masturbate to images of Jesus, purchased a $55,000 ventriloquist Jesus, members arent required to believe Jesus is savior, encouraged people to deface the bible out of hate toward scriptures that condemn homosexuality and more religious madness than you can imagine.
25 years ago: Dr. Walter Martin, Andy Comiskey take on progay clerics
Apprising Ministries blog put up four phenomenal videos from 1986 which show a couple of gay christian clerics unable to defend their theology. Watching them, its clear that little has changed over the last 25 years except that they have become more sophisticated in how they explain their falsehoods and half truths. These four videos provide you with a stunning instructional look at just how shallow these people are.
Thanks also to Apprising Ministries for recognizing that the gay christian movement is a significant contemporary threat to the internal spiritual health of today’s church. And like GCM Watch, AM called attention to the so-called emergent church’s collusion with the gcm. GCM Watch is extremely disappointed at the larger apologetics sites for neglecting to provide more ongoing teaching on this. We contacted several of them but they seem to believe that gcm theology is so preposterous (as one person told me) no one would believe it. What a gross misjudgment.
The videos are from pioneer talk show host June Cain Miller, featuring Dr. Walter Martin (who died 3 years after this), gay MCC cleric Rev Brad Anderson (who later died of AIDS), Rev. Wayne Christiansen (now pastor of a progay Lutheran church) anda young Andy Comiskey who founded Desert Streams Ministry and the Living Waters Program.
The exchanges are fascinating to watch as Dr. Martin reveals the shallow fallacy of homosexual religion. Historically, he notes there existed no protestant, catholic and orthodox belief which sanctioned homosexual religion. That concept was born and advanced largely through the work of gay christian theologian John Boswell.
Martin said “Gays can be religious and there are gays that are Christians,…but they are non practicing, just like there are adulterers and fornicators who are christian but theyre not practicing. So a gay can be a Christian if they are not practicing immorality.”
Martin comment seems to suggest agreement with the new gay christian argument which allows a person to claim a gay identity but not practice homosexual sexual activity. Exodus President Alan Chamber recently addressed that.
When the gay pastor attempts to make the issue one of relative normality, Comiskey corrects him with a quick lesson on God’s intent. I love how Comiskey explains that God’s perspective is soterical, not merely prohibitional. God blocks justification of sin so that the sinner can see his need for the saving blood of Jesus Christ. However, both of the progay reverends continue to throw up strawmen arguments, evasive answers, red herrings, half truths and emotional sidebars that are embarrasing to listen to. The exchanges reminded me of the panel I participated on in Greensboro, NC.
We’ve contended for sometime that the arguments of the gcm are inherently circular and are up against a wall in terms of honesty, integrity and legitimacy. All lies create other lies to sustain themselves but eventually will come to a dead end. Literally.
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Rev 21:8
No joy: Orlando Sentinel bemoans gay church, gray church syndrome
The Orlando Sentinel published a sympathy piece for its local gay church bemoaning the fact that it couldn’t “attract” youth. Generation gap imperils gay church, the anguished headline reads. Imperils? That’s a highly ironic choice of words, considering their inbred rebellion and the condition of their souls has already imperiled them.
The pews were nearly full for the early Sunday service at Joy Metropolitan Community Church, but just about everybody in the sanctuary was male and most were middle-aged.
Started in 1979, the predominantly gay Orlando church is imperiled by its inability to attract a younger generation of gay and lesbian worshippers. Only about 20 of the 250 people who regularly attend the church are in their 20s and 30s, said the Rev. Lisa Heilig, interim pastor.
“The truth of the matter is the church is either going to stretch and grow — or die,” Heilig said.
The lack of young people at Joy MCC isn’t unusual in itself. Only about a fourth of Americans 18 to 29 years old attend church regularly, according to the latest survey by LifeWay Research, a research organization associated with the Southern Baptist Convention.
Mainline Protestant denominations such as Baptists, Episcopalians, Lutherans and Methodists are dealing with the same doomsday demographic of aging congregations. But the gay church faces not only fewer young people attending church, but also a greater acceptance of gays in other churches.
They forgot to mention that JMAC is 99.9% white too. Besides, its a fact that the gay church is just a sanitized version of the gay club. One is attended at night and the debauchery is unrestrained. The other is attended during the day and the debauchery is temporarily restrained. Nevertheless the Sentinel “reporter” wanted help to beat the bushes for some impressionable youth to replenish the pews before the increasingly nervous —and aging— homosexual men in the church die out. Reminds me of a Stephen King movie I saw once.
Moreover, gay churches don’t have the built-in ability to attract families with children, teenagers with youth programs, and young people with church services like rock concerts. There are no “crying rooms” for babies at Joy MCC or Sunday-school classrooms or a day-care center during the week.
“Joy MCC is going to have to change and adapt or they are not going to be around,” said Randy Stephens, executive director of Orlando’s Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Community Center of Central Florida.
Young people are more fluid about their sexuality and less defined by their sexual orientation, Stephens said. They neither need nor crave the sanctuary that the gay church provided previous generations.
“What I’m finding is they don’t want to go to a church where they are segregated by their sexuality,” said the Rev. Jenn Stiles Williams, who has about 50 young gays in her contemporary service at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Orlando. “Their relationship with God is first, but they want a church where they can be who they are and not have to hide it.”
One of the fallacies that the article attempts to ingrain is that youth are just “attracted” to church. The hand wringing lamenting no “built in abilities”. Exactly, people of the same gender cannot reproduce children. It takes a male and a female to pro-create like The Creator. That’s been a fundamental truth that has kept humanity in tact since the very beginning. In fact it was the divine command. But that’s lost on a “church” full of homosexual men looking for youth to pass their twisted ideologies on to.
What’s even scarier are the suggestions by the church’s cleric leader and the club director that the church is going to have to “change and adapt”. More dripping irony for a group of blind people who fight the one change that they really need.
Give the aging gay church what it wants and it will go away? Only in the movies.
How gay christians really view Jesus
Another must see and hear to believe it video courtesy of homosexual christian clerics.
Have you been under the impression that gay christians love, revere, worship, honor, serve, obey and follow the Jesus of the Bible? If you have, you couldn’t have been more wrong. In fact I would say that the “Jesus” they speak of is but an idol of their own imagination, crafted by the dark recesses of their minds. The Christ, who came expressly to die and deliver us from the penalty and curse of sin is mocked and demeaned by those who call themselves by his name.
After watching this video (a little over 10 minutes) of a gaggle of clergy from the Metropolitan Community Church (a homosexual christian denomination), it reminded me of Bill Clinton’s 1998 defense statement when he said “It depends on what the meaning of is, is.”
Listen to these gay christian “theologians” discuss what believing in Jesus means to them. Or rather what believing in Jesus doesn’t mean to them.
The panel sets the stage by defining their brand of religion as more akin to Jesus because everything is always in flux. There are no absolutes and there are no imaginative boundaries for followers of Christ. In their logic, man is smart enough —and has a high self worth— without the bible to determine what is right and good for us.
I pulled out a few of the more stunning statements for your review. Keep in mind these are people who are demanding to be accepted as equals (brothers and sisters in Christ).
The Rev. Durrell Watkins (the church’s senior pastor) refers to Jesus as some type of voodoo doll he has purchased.
“I as a progressive Christian have set my heart on Jesus so yes I believe in Jesus…and that means that Jesus for me is a symbol and a figure that I am constantly working with, exploring, playing with and so how that impacts me, how that influences my life is going to change over time. But because I have set my heart on Jesus Ive made Jesus a primary symbol to work with…”
A symbol to play with? Professing themselves wise, they have become fools.
Rev. Nikki Bailey sees Jesus dying for the sins of humanity is something akin to a humorous fairy tale.
“I would say that belief in Jesus would be belief in all the questions and all of the seeking and all of the possibility that Jesus represents. I would agree with Durrell not necessarily believing about Jesus all of the things or I was taught in the tradition I was raised in, not necessarily that Jesus died for my sins., which is fine if that’s where you are… (all laugh) But for me it would be believing that all the things that Jesus represented through his life and all of the questions that arrive from that and all of the commitments that I need to make to justice and peace and loving my neighbor is a part of what that belief is.”
I was wrong. From there it gets progressively worse. The gay christian ministers go on to reject the significance of the death of Christ because they possess a “high anthropology”. Thus, they have no need for Jesus to save them although, as the man says, they do have high regard for Jesus.
I’ve said it before and it bears repeating. The theology of the homosexual christian movement is diametrically opposed to literally every fundamental teaching of our faith. This is the very nature of satan who wraps himself in an angelic facade and presents himself as one who is focused on love and peace.
