Gender confusion has made it to the mainstream and it has not bypassed the church. Our purpose for this article is to  explore the Biblical and spiritual dynamics of “cross dressing”.  In part one we’ll examine from a Judeo-Christian worldview and on part two we will examine the spiritual dynamics behind this broken image phenomena.

In April 2010 GCM Watch told you about so called “Transgender women” and the Bible” . Among the widening spectrum of gender confusion are pre-operation “transgenders”,  “drag kings” ,”drag queens” ,transvestic fetishism , and lesbians portray male personas i.e. butch; stud. From some  professional sociologist and psychologist  standpoints not every person that cross dresses is homosexual, however crossdressing/drag has been part of western gay culture. But does God approve of such actions?

A mainstream drag

Now days drag has gone mainstream in today society on the most part socially accepted.

• Recently at the MTV Video Music Awards Lady Gaga appeared in drag as her male alter-ego Joe Calderone.

• Female impersonator RuPaul’s VH1 reality show contest has lasted four seasons.

• Some Hollywood male stars have taken on roles in drag. For example the late Tony Curtis in “Some Like it Hot”, Robin Williams in “Mrs. Doubtfire”, Flip Wilson as “Geraldine”, Eddie Murphy in “Norbit”, Martin Lawrence in “Big Momma’s House”, and Tyler Perry as “Madea”, a gun toting, loud mouth cussing, scripture misquoting scriptures, marijuana smoking elderly woman. All Murphy, Lawrence, and Perry playing female characters that are made in the image of the black mammy type, have made $100s million dollars on these types of movies, laughing all the way to the bank.

Female caricatures are seen as marketable, and socially acceptable, no longer the underground taboo it once was.

Religion puts on a dress

Gcmwatch posted an article called UFCM Convocation reprise Canaanite religious abomination on September 4, 2010 last year, in which Unity Fellowship Church Movement sponsored a drag queen contest. The contest was called “Bright Life: The Illumination”, which was headlined by Bebe Zahara Benet(pictured on the right) the 2009 winner of Rupaul’s Drag Race reality television show. Benetwho real name is Nea Marshall Kudi is a former male model from Cameroon, who got his first taste of drag while in Paris at a fashion show, when he asked to dress and walk the runway as a female at the last minute when a female model didn’t show up, it was the birth of him becoming a drag queen. Kudi describes his female persona as Bebe. As Gcmwatch touched on is that Unity Fellowship Church Movement had enter into religious sexual idolatry of the Canaanites.

Old Testament View of Cross dressing

Deuteronomy 22:5 says, “The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto man, neither shall a man put on a woman garments: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God.” This scripture enjoins the children of Israel against engaging in the  perverse religious practice of Baal and Asherah worship. Baal worship incorporated men dressed as woman and take on the sexual role of female, and woman would dress as men and take on the sexual role of a male. Sexual orgies ensued as they believed this pleased their idols.

In Maimonides in his law code Mishneh Torah, had list cross-dressing prohibited by Deuteronomy 22:5, which forbid a man to wear clothes normally for a woman, and clothes normally worn by men shouldn’t be worn by women.

The Jewish Sages understood also the prohibition not just to clothing, but also cosmetic activities that maybe feminine in nature, therefore could not be practice by men, which is found in Nazir, ibid.; Code of Jewish Law Yoreh Deah 182.

Now some in branches of Judaism believe that during Feast of Purim, people can cross-dress for entertainment only for this celebration only, and not the use of promiscuity. However, majority of conservative Orthodox Jewish Rabbi’s and synagogues believe that cross-dressing for Purim is prohibited, and even a drag queen in today time would violate this prohibition(here).

In all cases the Old Testament and in Judaism forbids cross-dressing, and nowhere it could be found this practice acceptable in the Old Testament or in Judaism. But is the prohibition just a matter of Old Testament law no longer applicable?

The New Testament view

Although the Apostle Paul addresses this issue in 1 Corinthians 11:1-16, it is often misinterpreted. Most theologians are ignore this as a prominent strain in the Greco-Roman culture that influenced the Gentiles of that era.

Many of the new converts at the Church of Corinth were former devotees of mythological deities Venus, Poseidon, Apollo, and Dionysus. The issue was that some of the new converts in Corinth were coming into the church leaving there pagan gods, but were keeping their perverse behavior was associated with these gods. Some of the new male converts that worshipped  Poseidon were still wearing there hair long in a feminine way and wearing  veil to cover their head and face, which was connected to their former religion of Poseidon which promoted homosexuality(source).

With some of the new female converts at Corinthian Church, they were still cutting or shaving all their off hair and being unveiled to look like a man as they had done in their previous religion of Apollo and Dionysos; this practiced promoted lesbianism. In rare vase painting  from Corinth it shows a woman dressed in satyr pants equipped with a male organ. The women who worshipped Dionysus would dance before this deity who had been raised as a girl and was himself  called male-female and sham man( see here and here).

Apostle Paul is addressing issues that were more dominant in with the Gentile culture, than that of the Jewish culture. Paul in his evangelistic travels and planting churches among the Gentiles, finds homosexuality, lesbianism, cross-dressing, and sexual immorality more prevalent among the Gentiles than that of the Jews.

Paul was commissioned by Jesus Christ Himself to be an Apostle to the Gentile nations, to carry the Gospel to the Gentile world. Acts 26: 16-18  Jesus said to Paul on the road to Damascus, “But arise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

Apostasy and collusion with apostates continue to dismantle the already morally bankrupt American church system. The North Carolina Council of Churches, an aggregation of various denominations which advocate mostly liberal social causes, has elected a homosexual cleric as the leader of the organization according to news reports.

Among the members of the NCCC is are three historic and predominately African American denominations, the African Methodist Episcopal Church (AME), the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church (CME), and the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church (AMEZ).

The national headquarters of the National Council of Churches has been attempting for years to admit MCC, a Los Angeles based homosexual christian denomination but has been unsuccessful. Instead, they have incorporated clerics of the MCC which have had a devastating effect of the organization’s biblical views.

The council selected 55-year-old Stan Kimer(left), a lay leader in the Metropolitan Community Churches — a denomination that ministers to homosexual men and women.

The council’s executive director, the Rev. George Reed, says this is the first time a southern state church council has been led by an openly homosexual person.

The state branch of the Southern Baptist Convention does not belong to the North Carolina Council of churches, but North Carolina’s Roman Catholic dioceses are members. The council promotes left-leaning legislative goals on policies including immigration, guns, and the death penalty. Kimer, a retired IBM sales executive, says he wants young people more involved in inter-church activism.

A Christian renewal group says by electing an open homosexual to be its leader, an alliance of North Carolina churches has undermined its own purpose.

The North Carolina Council of Churches has chosen an open homosexual as its president-elect. He is 55-year-old Stan Kimer, a lay leader in the Metropolitan Community Church, which consists largely of homosexuals and lesbians.

According to its website, the purpose of the ecumenical organization is to promote “Christian unity.” But the vote in favor of Kimer, says Alan Wisdom of the Washington, DC-based Institute on Religion & Democracy, accomplishes just the opposite.

“All major branches of the Christian church — the Roman Catholics, the Eastern Orthodox, the evangelicals, the African-Americans, the historic Protestant denominations for the most part — agree that God’s standard of sexual morality is the marriage of man and woman and that homosexual relationships are not in accord with Christian teaching,” he explains.

Yet the Metropolitan Community Church with which Kimer is affiliated affirms homosexuality.

According to Wisdom, the Council has often pushed agendas not held in common by Christians. “It has pushed liberal positions on issues like immigration and the death penalty where there is not consensus among Christians,” he says, “but this is a further step in that same direction.”

GCM Watch contacted officials with the AME, CME and AMEZ denominations but none have responded as of publication. The story will be updated if that information becomes available.

Statements made by members of the council’s executive board suggest that denominational officials were not aware of the vote and may not have even participated in the vote installing Kimer man.

“A lot of our member denominations have internal battles about this,” said the Rev. George Reed, the council’s executive director. “But the governing board felt the fact that he is a gay man was not a disqualifying factor.”

The Rev. Steve Hickle, a Methodist pastor who sits on the governing board, said Kimer’s election was possible because the council does not require theological agreement. Members work together on social issues where they can find common ground.

“The point of interreligious conversation is to continue to find common ground and understanding,” Hickle said. “We want to work together on social justice whenever we can.”

The group’s governing board does not list any members of the three African American denominations. African Americans are only “members at large”.

Hickle and Reed are referring to a  diaprax (false unity). tactics liberal denominations are using with greater frequency to draw in those whose biblical beliefs are against homosexuality. Membership is not based on moral beliefs just “social justice” issues. The Raleigh Observer said the coven “signals an acceptance among member denominations – Episcopalians, Lutherans, Methodists, Presbyterians and Roman Catholics – that even if they have theological differences about homosexuality, they are OK with a gay man at the helm. Or at least, they don’t see it as an issue worth fighting.”

Ecumenical unity and the false church

No sooner than the NCCC elected the homosexual cleric as its leader, it moved to accept into its membership the North Carolina branch of the Unity Fellowship Movement.

“In her letter seeking membership on behalf of her judicatory, Bishop Tonyia M. Rawls wrote, “We would consider it an honor to join in your efforts to ‘enable denominations, congregations, and people of faith to individually and collectively impact our state on issues such as economic justice and development, human well-being, equality, compassion and peace, following the example and mission of Jesus Christ’.”

The scriptures do not lie. The goal of the apostate church is to gain influence and power. Once they are in the seats of influence they will open doors for every other demon and foul spirit who applies.

The bible uses Babylon to symbolize the false church. It is growing now and will in time come to dominant religion in the world with its false prophet. But it will fall and be violently destroyed. That’s why the Spirit of God is calling the saints to come out while you can still hear his voice.

And he called out with a mighty voice, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a dwelling place for demons, a haunt for every unclean spirit, a haunt for every unclean bird, a haunt for every unclean and detestable beast. Rev 18:2 ESV

We urge God’s people to come from among them and separate yourself. Light cannot have fellowship with darkness and the spirit of God will not sanctify that which God has condemned.

The uber weird, dead ancestor worshipping Unity Fellowship Church Movement is sponsoring a drag queen contest to spice up its 2010 Convocation. The Los Angeles based denomination is grasping for new lows in an effort to appear relevant to a group of people who are blind to God’s word.

Called “Bright Life: The Illumination”, the bizarre and dark entertainment event is being headlined by the winner of a reality TV cross dressing show.

But let’s look at it from God’s perspective. He has already spoken on this and the verdict is holy.

A woman must not wear men’s clothing, nor a man wear women’s clothing, for the LORD your God detests anyone who does this. ” Deuteronomy 22:5

Deuteronomy 22:5 strikes not only at the act of wearing attire of the opposite gender but also at the intent behind it. God’s holy requirements for his people meant that they were not to adopt, approve or practice the customs and religious rituals of inhabitants of the promised land. Notably, the religion of the Canaanites was infused with sexual perversion. It was one of the most sexually vile cultures of antiquity. From History World.org:

The Baalim and the Baalot, gods and goddesses of the Earth, were believed to be the revitalizes of the forces of nature upon which agriculture depended. The revitalization process involved a sacred marriage (hieros gamos), replete with sexual symbolic and actual activities between men, representing the Baalim, and the sacred temple prostitutes (qedeshot), representing the Baalot. Cultic ceremonies involving sexual acts between male members of the agricultural communities and sacred prostitutes dedicated to the Baalim were focused on the Canaanite concept of sympathetic magic. As the Baalim (through the actions of selected men) both symbolically and actually impregnated the sacred prostitutes in order to reproduce in kind, so also, it was believed, the Baalim (as gods of the weather and the Earth) would send the rains (often identified with semen) to the Earth so that it might yield abundant harvests of grains and fruits. Canaanite myths incorporating such fertility myths are represented in the mythological texts of the ancient city of Ugarit (modern Ras Shamra) in northern Syria; though the high god El and his consort are important as the first pair of the pantheon, Baal and his sexually passionate sister-consort are significant in the creation of the world and the renewal of nature.

The UFCM is carrying on the religious sexual idolatry of the Canaanites. And just like the Canaanites, its fairly clear this denomination has no intention of even considering what God says is detestable to him.

These personal narratives help provide a balanced and truthful counter to the lies currently being promoted by gay churches about sexual morality. These organizations promise an overabundance of love, value and acceptance but what are they actually delivering to hurting and confused people?

If there was ever a clearer sign that the spirit of the antichrist is actively at work in the earth, this is it. The Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s largest homosexual rights organization, issued a “Clergy Call” May 4-5 in the nation’s capital.

Slow and methodical, deception creeps forward

Don’t be deceived, satan is methodically working to usurp power in the earth through  three avenues headed by three powers.

1. The beast – a consolidated one world government or political system.  The beast has significance because he is described as the “lawless” one. Not only does he revel in breaking God’s laws, but will make new laws which will criminalize any action previously in agreement with God’s law. In this context, the UN is our foremost example of the scope and power of this conduct.

2. The antichrist – a false christ equipped with lying signs and wonders. His physical identity will not be revealed until after the church is raptured. But spiritually, he is influencing nations, people and cultures as we speak  (2 Thess 2:1-7).

3. The false prophet – the mouthpiece of a single,  state controlled false religion comprised of diverse religious beliefs. This was chillingly played out by the union of world religions which pledged to a “Faith in Human Rights Statement”. We reported on that here. The false prophet’s mission is to coerce men to follow the antichrist. Initially, this is accomplished through agreeing to false unity, programs and events which glorify human achievement while quietly minimizing God’s authority.

These three will attempt to dominate every facet of human existence from currency to church and everything in between. In fact, Revelation tells us that under their brief but murderous reign “no one will be able to buy or sell” without having the sign of the beast ( the consolidated government) visible in their forehead. The best foreshadowing of this is the WW II Nazi requirement that European Jewry wear the star of David in public. If you will study the origin, deployment and execution of the Nazis death and domination agenda, you’ll see stunning parallels of what is to come.

The antichrist is the key to satan’s attempted final solution to murder the righteous and enthrone himself in Jerusalem as king. The other two are stepping stones deployed to (1) deceive the world and (2) control the world, in that order. Premeditated deception is crucial to unrestrained dominance.

Its no accident that religion will be the primary portal and device of deception. What we are witnessing right now in this country and on the world scene is phase one of satan’s plan. Deception takes time to cultivate. Like a viper waiting for the precise moment to strike its prey, satan is preconditioning people to accept false religion and rid themselves of  “intolerant, bigoted, hateful” people (and the bible) who stand in the way of unrestricted sexual immorality and other brazen sins.  But to hastily remove such people through acts of violence would prematurely betray his real intentions.

Can God get  a couple of witnesses?

That’s why God’s truthtellers and witnesses are so despised today. We won’t get with the program. We won’t praise the false ministers who are doing “good deeds”. We won’t dance to the beat of the idolatrous music piped into the churches today. We’re in the way of “progress”. We are stumbling blocks and unwanted road signs. Yet, we’ve been commissioned by God to document and warn. We have been called to cry aloud and speak out boldly even at the risk of losing our own lives and well being (Rev 12:11). There is a purpose in this. The scriptures tell us something powerful about witnesses.

1. God will not do anything until he first reveals it unto his prophets who in turn are to speak what he has revealed (Amos 3:7). Its also important to know that “his prophets” are not just anybody with a white clergy collar around their necks, but those who walk in agreement with God’s word (Amos 3:3).

2. Anything that God does, is not without witnesses. By the mouth of two or three witnesses, let every thing be established. Witnesses are essential to justice and judgment. When the judgment of God falls, it will be his witnesses who will attest that he is  just in his destruction of the wicked and his punishment of the disobedient. Eyes in heaven (angels) and eyes in the earth (saints) are on duty recording, reporting and warning that God will not strive with man always.  When the wicked reached their fullness, God will call heaven and earth against them as witnesses and then release full, merciless vengeance on them (Duet 30:19).

3. Although people will for the most part reject God’s warnings, laugh and mock, we are required to speak without fail. We are witnesses and that’s what we do. Perhaps now seeing what we see, we should interpret Acts 1:8 with a duality of meaning beyond just evangelism.

4. Satan parodied the witness principle in the illegal trial of Christ.  Two false witnesses were called in the night to lie on Jesus (Mt 26:60). Based on their lies, the Sanhedrin falsely convicted Christ of blasphemy. To counteract the lie, God spoke to Pilate’s wife and told Pilate he was innocent.

The  Call of the Frog

The aforementioned needed to be explained so that you understand what the Human Rights Campaign’s “clergy call” represents. God is showing us something and it is a marker of what is to come. The Clergy Call event is wholly controlled by a political organization which happens to be a homosexual political organization. If you look at the list of speakers you’ll see the false, one world church represented and arrayed in all of its darkness. Mystics, christians, buddhists, muslims, jews and secular humanists united in one goal to destroy God’s law of sexual morality.

Note that in Revelation 16:13 the false prophet is possessed by an “unclean spirit”  like frogs which John sees coming out of him. One of the characteristics frogs are most noticeable by is the distinctive sound of their call, which can be widely heard during the night or day, especially during its mating season. Thus, John’s exposure of the false prophet’s frog spirit is one who seeks to seduce the church with its voice, particularly during a certain season when the frog’s lies are most fertile. This is why we are only to hear what the Spirit is saying to the church. All other voices are demons in mating heat.

If you haven’t been convinced that any support or affirmation of this demonic inspired movement is wrong, think again. You just might have already been deceived.
